Chapter 9
Eric and I stared at each other for a long time. I would not hit him. How can I, I mean why would you hit the person you like maybe even love ? I started to get tried to the silence "So what are you planning on doing since I'm not gonna hit you?"
"Well I was hoping I didn't have to do this but looks like I'm gonna have to." I had not clue to what he was talking about. I looked to the right of him and I see another friend of my Pawllette. I gave Eric the look of death when I saw her. "Are you fucken kidding me?" Then I looked at her and it hit me how in the world does she even know about these things? So the look of death that I was giving Eric went to her. "What are you?" I had to ask if so isn't human. Pawllette looked at and she knew that I was mad at her.
She walked over to me "Hey I'm sorry for not telling you, but I wasn't allowed to." "What do you mean?" I was confused as hell to what's going on. That's when Eric starting walking towards me. "You really didn't know did you?" I just shook my head not trusting my voice. "Lexie, I am a half wolf and half vampire as well." I couldn't hold in my angry anymore. So I just let it out and on her. "You are my best friend like a sister, what did you think that things where going to change between us?"
After that I had walked a way I didn't care that we haven't started my training. I was hurt. ~Don't you dare think about I just want to be left alone~ That's all I said. Once when I got back to the house I went to my room grabbed my ipod and the keys to the car. I needed to take some time to myself to think thing though. But before I left I pulled my phone out and text Chris. Hey need to talk have a lot on my mind.
When I got to the car was when Chris texted me back. Sure I'm at IB right now. Without even thinking I started to head over there.
Me: ok I'll meet you over there I'm on my way now.
When I got there he was on one of the tables looking at the ocean. "So they let you out?" he said when he heard my foot steps. "No" I knew he had some things to just by the way he said that. We stay quiet for about an hour, Chris had broke the silence "So what's up?"
"I needed to get out after finding out...." I wasn't sure if he knew that Pawllette was a half breed. "Finding out what?" when I went to look at him he was already looking at me like I was hiding something from him. When I was. From what I understand half breeds are nothing to the pack and to the vampire home. So I just left it alone. So I tried to change the subject. "I don't get why I have to be the one the elder's saw?"
"Oh believe me women if I knew I would've kept you from this world a long time ago." We both laugh at what he said. "So when are you going back to school?" the one question I didn't want to answer. School was the last thing on my mind at the moment. "I have no clue" I looked down at my feet as I was sitting on the table. "You know if you got back if will help" I looked at him "Yeah and how is that?" Chris had a big grin after I said that. Oh no.
"If you go back to school you'll have some time out of this mess and will be able to be normal" he had a point, but I think that ship had sailed already. But it doesn't hurt to at least try. "Okay fine Monday I'll go back"
When I got back home all of them were in the living room watching TV kinda. Eric was the only one wake the rest of them were a sleep. "So went to go talk to the wolf?" Oh great now his pissed. "I though you wanted to be alone" I put my hands in the pockets of my jacket and felt the keys. Good just in case I need to get away again I can. I really didn't want to fight "So what does it matter to you? I though that we weren't going to keep things from each other, but you did"
"Your right I'm sorry I didn't tell you when she wanted to you herself" I rolled my eyes and went to my room when I shut the door I looked at my bed. I wasn't tired yet so I pulled out my phone and noticed I got a text from Amber
Hey I havent heard you in a long time just making sure your ok I know you said something about finishing school out of state, hope everything is going well for you.
I hate that I had to lie to her about that. I was going to text her back, but I didn't know what to say. I can't tell her the truth she'd think I'm more crazy then usual. So I just left it alone and went to my bed and sat down. ~Babe are you awake?~ Great his using our mind link to check on me. ~No can't sleep why?~ I knew where this was going. ~Babe can we please talk~ I didn't want to go back down stairs. ~OK then talk~ was all I said.
We talk via mind link for about 2 hours then I told him to just come to my room. By that time I was already in my pj's, and messing with my laptop. We kept talking till he got the point that I don't like him keeping things from me. And I got it that if there's something that I need to know I need to go ask that person. "Are we ok?" he asked I wasn't so mad at him anymore. "Yeah just don't do it again" "Good well its late and if your planning on going back to school you'll need your rest. Eric got up to give me a good night hug and kiss
Wait how in the world. "Hold it" I said just as he reached the door. "How in hell do you know about that?" I didn't even tell him yet. "I heard you thinking about it on your way in the house." I looked at him and the look was sad "Do you think that I'm not going to do the training and stuff?" I said as I got up and started to walk to him. Eric shook his head. "No I just don't understand why you may even want to go back?"
I took a deep breath. "I want to go back because I want to feel some what normal. When I was told that I'd be a fighter was kind of a lot for me to take in and adjust to." Eric looked mad. " Ok then I guess if you want to you can go back to your parents." and then he walked out. Wait what just happened. I was standing there trying to figure out what the hell just happened. Ok I can see where this is going, so I opened the door and went after him in the hallway "You think I asked for this kind of life? Sorry but I didn't it was just throw at me, but if your gonna act this then I will. I went back to my room and grabbed my bag that had some clothes in it.
I went in the closet and put my dark jeans on and my black hoody. When I was walking out of the closet I grabbed my phone, keys to the car and my bag. With out saying anything I walk down the stairs and out the door went to my car. When I got in Eric had walked out of the door calling my name I didn't listen I locked the doors so he couldn't come in to try to stop me. And turned up the music loud so I wouldn't him and just in case he uses the damn mind link.
I turn the car on and took off like a bat out of hell.
Eric's P.O.V.
I watched her drive off pissed off at me for what I had said. "So what did you do this time?" Josh was next to me. I looked at him "Don't worry about it." He followed me when I went inside I went to my room to get away from him. If I didn't he'd be doing 21 questions, which I'm not in the mood. When I was finally in my room I tried the mind link to get an idea of where she might be going. I know she wasn't going to her parents, but all I kept getting was music to a song. So I pulled out my phone and called Pawllette her friend. "Yes how can I help you?" Was what she said when she answered. I took a deep breath. "Can you call your so call sister and see where she's going ?"
She didn't say anything for a while "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?" I could tell she was pissed so I explained to her what happened "No you clean up your own mess" I know she's right, "Lexie wont talk to me or let me talk to her" I understand that I hurt Lexie and need to fix. "I get why she wont" While I was talking to Pawllette I kept trying to with the mind link. Still nothing. "Look I'll see what I can do, but just this once next time your on your own." "Thanks" was all I could say.
When I tried the mind link one more time and she was crying ~Why?....Why would you say that after knowing what's going with my parents and I you never wanted me.~ Oh shit! My phone ding saying I have a text. It was from Pawllette.
Dude whatever you said really hurt.
Me: Where is she?
Pawllette: She came here do not come over!!
Me: Ok
She was safe with someone who I know and trust.
