It's the middle of winter and Sam's returning from a supply run. When out of the corner of his eye he spots you, you're no older than four. He wouldn't have thought about it much, if he didn't notice the fact your lips and fingertips are slightly blue.
The clothes you're wearing are soaked by melted snow. Unable to help himself Sam walks towards you wanting to help. You flinch away from his touch.
"It's okay, I'm not going to hurt you." he says in a gentle tone. As he removes his jacket revealing a blue flannel shirt underneath. He then gently gently drapes it over your small frame.
"T-tank y-you." You say shivering, as you snuggle into the coat thankful for the warmth.
"Hey, you need it more than me." Sam replies. "I'm Sam. What's your name, kid?"
"Y-Y/N."
"That's a beautiful name. Tell me, Y/N why are you out in the cold without a coat?"
"I-i d-dont h-have o-one. M-mommy a-and d-daddy j-just l-left m-me h-here." Sam Winchester pauses, thinking of what to do. Dean might kill him, but he isn't going to let you stay out on the streets and freeze to death. He asks if you want to come with him- you quickly nod in agreement.
Sam carefully picks you up (after putting his jacket back on), careful not to move you too much. He then carries you to the motel room. Once inside the room, Sam does what he can to warm you up- your lips and fingers slowly return to a somewhat normal color. Eventually, you end up falling asleep against him.

-Sam POV-
I gently place a hand on Y/N's forehead checking her temperature. She's still cold- causing me to worry that I might have to take her to the hospital. About then is when Dean gets back from...whatever he was doing."What's with the kid, and should I ask why she's drowning in your flannel?" My brother asks.
"I found her in the street, poor kid has a case of hypothermia- hence the shirt." I answer. "She's not as bad as she was when I found her."
"What do you mean?"
"Y/N's lips and fingertips were turning blue when I found her."
"You sure her parents aren't worried about her?" I throw my brother a look, before setting Y/N down. I then tuck the four year old girl underneath the blankets.
"What parent would leave a four year old outside in the middle of December at..." I look at the clock. "9:59 at night?"
"You have a point." Dean sits down next to the small girl, checking her temperature. He sighs and pulls away from her sleeping form. "Man, I really hope her temperature doesn't drop during the night."
"You and me both Dean."

-No one POV-
The next morning, before Dean makes a breakfast run, he checks your temperature again. Thankfully you're out of the hypothermic area, but you're not quite to regular body temperature yet. Dean then leaves the room.About an hour later, you wake up because you're cold. Your (eye color) eyes dart around the room looking for Sam... you didn't like being alone.
"Hey, how you feeling cutie?" Sam asks walking out of the restroom. You start to shiver a little, giving Sam his answer. He scoops you up in his arms and holds you against his chest.
"Y/N, this is my brother Dean." Sam says, introducing you to Dean when he gets back. Dean smiles as he sets down the food.
"What in the bag?" You ask.
"Breakfast, you hungry?"

"Don't eat too fast Y/N, you'll get a stomach ache." Sam advises when he notices you basically inhaling your oatmeal and your hot cocoa."Sorry." You reply in a soft voice. You haven't had a decent meal since your parents abandoned you... so you're starving.
"When was the last time you actually ate something?" Dean asks concerned. You shrug in response, it's been awhile. The Winchesters share a look. "Y/N, where's your parents?" Tears form in your eyes.
"They don't want me." You say with a sniffle. "No one wants me..."
