"Remember, Mr. Hudson wants the painting by Thursday." Jonathan reminded Hayley before leaving.

Hayley let out a sigh. She was so tired. For the past few weeks, she has been busy and productive, trying to distract herself. In the morning, she would wake up and do some chores. Then she'll go paint in for hours in the art room. After that, she would have a meeting with Jonathan, some clients or the broker she's trying to make a deal with to have her own space for her art. And then she'll paint some more and draw doodles whilst eating dinner alone. Sometimes she would take a few hours of sleep or just lie on the couch just thinking. At around ten in the evening, she would go to this local night club called Elektrik, wherein she would play a set or two until dawn. Then she'll go back to her place to get some sleep.

It was her routine now. It was almost tiring, and the only thing that made it different was when she's coloring a canvas or spinning tracks. The vibe in that club was different, filled with energy, joy and freedom. Everyone in that club was open; they could freely express themselves whatever background, race, sexuality, and gender they were. It was a place Hayley wanted to live in, as she was tired of being caged and restricted.

Hayley sat on the floor of her art room, staring at the blank canvas. The painting was due in two days and not a single stroke was on the canvas. Mr. Hudson wanted a piece that represented love. And Hayley wasn't inspired to do such theme.

Her phone suddenly vibrated and interrupted the music that was playing through the speakers. Seeing the name of caller made her feel different things. Normally she would be really happy and excited that her girlfriend was calling her, but after that one night, Hayley felt hopeless.

Why was she still in this relationship? Is her love isn't enough? What the hell is happening?

Hayley shove those thoughts away and decided to answer the call.

"Hello?" Hayley greeted weakly.

"Hey! Are you alright?" Selena asked noticing the tone of her girlfriend's voice.

'What do you think?'  Was what Hayley wanted to say. But she was just...tired.

"I'm fine. Just got up from sleep." Hayley lied, entirely. She was far from fine and she hasn't gotten much sleep.

"Oh, I hope I didn't wake you up. Anyways, I won't be home tonight. But I sent someone to bring you a nice dinner."

"Oh how caring of you." Hayley mumbled to herself as she played with the paint and mixed some colors.

"What was that?"

"I didn't say anything. Um, thanks. Hope you have fun...wherever you are." Hayley said sadly but genuinely. She really did hope that those nights without her lover, Selena was happy. She probably was since she was barely home.

Home. Doesn't feel like it anymore, not without her.

Selena noticed the tone of her lover's voice. She knew that something was wrong; she just didn't know what it was. She opened her mouth to ask her but someone called for her.

"You should go. Have fun."

And with that, Hayley hung up.

Hayley was ready to go once she had placed her daddy cap. She was so pumped for tonight, she has made new mixes and samples and she couldn't wait to play them in the club. She headed towards the front door and opened it.

"Hey babe! Where are you going?" Selena asked, noticing that her girlfriend was all dressed up.

Hayley stood there, frozen and unresponsive. She was too surprised that her girlfriend was home that she didn't know what to do.
