Inner Thoughts of a Struggling Artist

An artist's work

is never really done.

Sometimes he just

has to move to the next one.

Things grow old,

and you need something new.

That's why an artist's completed works

are always few.

But when he does finish,

he's never really happy.

Most artists see their own work

as being crappy.

A trick of the mind,

or a trick of the light.

Some artists just cannot

fall asleep at night.

Tossing and turning,

as they worry and fret

about the criticism

they will inevitably get.

Will they like it?

I don't know.

Will they hate it?

Probably so.

This is why a piece of art

is never truly finished.

An artist will die

with his confidence diminished.
