Short filler cuz I'm trash lol. And this story along with Ignite might end up being more like short-stories, so they'll be quicker paced. "It All Started At Midnight" though is definitely gonna be a longer slower paced story.
"Yeah and that dick was like, 'you put too much ice in my drink! Do your job right or don't do it all!' I swear I wanted to throw the drink at his face. He always complains about something." Patrick laughed, some pale pink tint lighting his cheeks slightly. It's been a while since we enjoyed himself, he was either too busy or too stressed and hurt.
"I have respect for you dude, you seriously have to have a lot of patience around here." Pete chuckles back, running his fingers through his hair. Patrick's shift ended and as promised, they hung out at the bar to just catch up on everything.
"Yeah, but it pays well and some customers are cool and tip pretty well." The bartender shrugs. Pete nodded in agreement, he understood.
"Have you...ever considered finding a better job, 'Trick?" He asked cautiously, not wanting to cross any lines. The bartender remained quiet for a moment, thinking of his answer.
"I mean...I'm used to this place and now I need the two jobs more than ever." He sighed, looking at his reflection on the counter of the bar.
"Well if you ever need help, you know dad wouldn't mind pitching in." Pete said in understanding, resting his head on his friend's shoulder comfortably.
"Man, why did we have to grow up?" Patrick groaned, thinking about how time flew by too quickly.
"Yeah, being an adult sucks." Pete agreed, Patrick letting out a snort in reply.
"Says the dude who's set for life." He laughed, looking back at his best friend. Pete just shrugged and laughed with him.
"Well I actually do wanna try and not have everything fed to me, ya know?" He said, earning a nod of agreement.
"Yeah that's true. But it's so hard sometimes, it sucks worrying constantly if I'm able to pay the bills or not." Patrick says, sighing at the end of his sentence.
"Well ya know, you could move in with me if ya want until things smooth out better." Pete shrugs, Patrick just puts on his thinking face and considers his offer.
"I mean...I don't wanna hear you banging someone new every night." He ends up replying.
"The walls are soundproof, actually." Pete laughs, and Patrick joins along.
"Well of course you have the money to afford that, clever." He grins. Patrick for once, felt carefree. Usually at the end of a late shift, he's too tired to make time for socializing, he's glad he was able to this time though.
"It's one of the first things I did when I moved into the apartment honestly!" Pete laughed, Patrick laughing along with him.
"Well, I'll definitely consider moving in. It may have to come with that." Patrick smiled and shrugged, Pete grinning at him hopefully. Pete wouldn't mind the company, it did get lonely living alone.
"I'd love to have you as my roommate, 'Trick." He said honestly. Patrick just smiled, and with the remaining color he had left, a faint blush grew to his cheeks.
