Chapter 4: A Decision Sealed By Destiny

            Weeks have passed since Six was introduced as the new lady of the maw, after a while I started to notice that Six would disappear at night, and become very distracted during the day, so I decided to see what has been happening. This is what I found out, she has been sneaking out to met up with one of capture boys named Seven, that's all... I needed to know more about, more than what he tells Six, so I decided, I would go through his files, and you're probably wondering "Files, what files are you talking about?", Well when mom was alive, she liked to gather information about them, either through when she was teaching them or through Roger. I looked through the names that began with an S,  Then I finally found his file... It looked like a new one, so he might have not been here for that long, I opened it...

Info: This kid seems to be friendly with the nomes, they seem to treat as a king. He's able to get himself out of any situation either by following others or using his brains, quite the bright kid though I recently found out, he was behind my mother's murder, not like it impacted me much, but he is harming my staff, if he tries to come to my quarters, it will be the end for him...

                 Now I definitely know he hasn't been here for that long, there is hardly any info here! None the less, I got some information on him, especially one that he hasn't told Six yet! Call it cruel, but I'm just respecting my mother's wishes...

~Flashback time!!~

           It was a week before Six was born, it was freezing outside, for the first and last time, the maw stayed in the same place and the same time. I saw the guests stomping to their tables, their bodies looking like they were about to explode, eyes filled with boredom, it was disgusting... I stayed near my "mother" and my "father" even if I didn't have to, I have my mother's power, not to mention I'm a shadow of my "sister", Her opposite, Her mentor, a person who can keep her under control after mother dies. My father started to talk with my "grandmother" when my mother brought me up to her level. "Ebota, do you know how she will look like now?" My mother asked, "Yes, she will have black hair, pale skin, she'll be short but she'll grow taller as she grows, She'll also have purple eyes" I told her, "How many eyes will she have?" She asked, her voice filled seriousness, "...... Three eyes" I told, hesitating at first. Mother had to the look of worry on her face, I know why, 1 eye is great, 2 eyes are fine, but three eyes are stepping over the line. "What are you gonna do?" I asked her, "I don't know" She told me, grabbing her stomach. "Ebota?" She called my name, "Yes?" I responded, "Don't let anyone expect my staff to get close to her, don't let her fall in love, I'm worried what would happen if anyone born outside of the maw gets close to her, will you not look after her when I'm dead?" She asked me, worry and seriousness filled in her voice. I stood in silence in for a bit, "Of course, mom..." I said, its not like I had a chose......

~End Of Flashback~

       I will continue with my promise, for all three of us... Night soon fell, "I need to get to her before she leaves" I thought to myself as I faded myself into the shadows, and went from the file room to Six's room...

        I was getting change to meet Seven in the depths, I haven't told him anything about me being the new lady of the maw, and luckily Roger, and the Twins agree to keep my name, a secret until I feel like telling the kids on the maw, but since I'm feeling generous, I decided to make them, some new clothing, I asked the Twins to have their measurements and weights, and a short description of what they feel more comfortable wearing. Tomorrow Butch will come with me to the outside world, to get some fabric from a fabric shop with a twist, all of sudden Ebota appeared in the shadows, with a file in her hand. "Who's file is that" I asked her, while putting on my raincoat, "Where are you going?" She asked, her voice sounded different, it sounds familiar but I don't know where considering how distorted it is, "I asked you first" I told her, ignoring the voice change. "It's one of the capture boys file, now where are you going?" She asked again, her voice getting more clearly, where did does it come from? "I gonna go see Roger" I said, lying I don't want Ebota knowing where I'm going. "You're lying, you are gonna go see that rotten kid" She said, her voice as clear as day, I instantly recognize the voice, it used to belong to my mother...

    "EBOTA, WHY DO YOU HAVE MOTHER'S VOICE" I yelled at her, I didn't like that she has her voice, she is suppose to be dead, and it's disturbing... "What do you think?" She said, still having that voice. "Still! It's disturbing!" I told her, knowing why she has her voice. "It's not like I can change it, Now tell me, are you gonna see that rotten kid Seven, or whatever his name is!" She said, yelling at the end. I froze, how does she know about Seven, how does she know I even see him! Silence flooded the room, like water did to my grandmother's quarters, as Ebota spoke again. "Well, are you?" That's what she said, I found my voice, "Why does it matter to you?" I asked her, pulling on my hood to hide my face.

          "It matters to me because I don't like that you are getting so close to him" She said, "Getting close to him! Why can't I get close to him" I thought to myself, or so I thought. "It was mother's wishes, the power you have is not stable yet, until you can control your powers, You are not allowed to get near anyone but the staff" She told me. "Powers?" I asked her, "Mother's magic, I seen how hungry you get, What if you get hungry and attack him?" She asked me. It's true, what if I attack Seven, I have already killed a Nome, and a lot people including my mother, I can't control my hungry, but I can try! "I Wouldn't Hurt Him! I Try Can Control My Powers, And My Hunger!" I partially yelled at her, tears rolled down my eyes. "Then prove it, if you can control your hunger and powers for a week, I'll let you get close to him, and anyone you choose" She told me, holding out her hand. I stood there, my mother and grandmother could control their powers, and problems, I'm sure I can too! I shook her hand, "Can I see him, today?" I asked her, "Sure, but don't revealed anything yourself, just do that for the next week" She told me, as she faded back into the shadows. I saw that she dropped the file in her hand, I picked it up and looked at the name, Seven Carter,  I thought about opening it, but I decided to not to, I put the file on my nightstand, and went off to the depths
