Chapter 2:

I wake up at some point in the afternoon. I see breakfast on the table wrapped in aluminum foil, so Sae has already stopped by. I see the letters on the coffee table and pick one up.

Dear Katniss,
My therapy is going well. I should be home within a few months. I hope you're okay. I didn't hear from you yet. Did you get my last letter? Today they showed me some videos of our best times. I wish things could be like they used to be. Maybe when I get home they can. Hope you get these letters.
Love always,
Peeta

This letter really hits hard. I can see my old Peeta coming back to me. He's fighting his way back. He's really trying. If Peeta's trying so hard to get back to normal and move forward with his life, then maybe I should too. I need to stop living in the past and move forward. So I decide to go upstairs and shower. I strip my clothes and toss them in the dirty clothes basket. After my shower, I comb out my hair and put it in it's usual braid down the back. I do all my laundry and even clean my house. I realize it's dinner time when Sae walks in the back door.

"Wow. Look at this place." She says. "What got into you?"

"Well," I say, "Peeta has been writing me and I guess the way he sounds so hopeful for the future just makes me think if he's trying so hard, so should I. For us I guess."

"Well good for you." She says "I'm really happy your getting back to normal."

"Thank you." I say. "So I don't need you to come by anymore. I can handle it myself."

And with that. She wishes me luck and leaves. I eat the dinner she left and wash the dishes and go sit in the living room to read another letter.

Dear Katniss,
I still haven't heard from you. I hope you're doing okay. If you did get this let me know how you are. How Haymitch is. He's probably just drunk and out of it, right? I can't wait to come home. It seems like ages away, but I know it'll come in no time.
Love,
Peeta

I fell so bad for not responding to Peeta's letters sooner. He probably feels so alone and I feel horrible for him. I can't wait till he comes home so I can see him again.
