Draco Malfoy x Reader

Draco's crying. He's twisted up in the sheets, soaked in sweat.
"Draco." You mumble from your side of the bed. He's kicked most of the blankets off the bed, and now that you're awake, you're cold.
He doesn't answer, so you turn the lamp on and sit up.
"Draco." You repeat, more wake as you reach out to shake him.
When your hand touches his clammy skin, he screams a loud, terrified scream.
"Draco!"
He sits up, gasping. "Y/N." He chokes out.
"I'm right here, darling."
He turns to look at you, taking deep, shaky breaths and trembling.
"Draco?"
He lays his head down in your lap. Sighing, you smooth his hair down.

When you come home from the store the next day, he's sitting in the bed, a book open in his lap.
"Hey, love."
He looks up. "Hey." He smiles a bit as he closes his book.
"How are you?" You sit on the edge of the bed.
"I'm fine. How are you?"
"I'm okay."
He turns and looks out the window.
"Draco?"
"I killed Dumbledore."
"Snape killed Dumbledore."
"Because of me."
"Draco–"
"No."
You move to sit beside him, laying your head on his shoulder. "Draco, nothing's your fault."
"People might not have died if I'd been different. The werewolf, that kid who always took pictures of Harry, S-Snape, the Weasley boy..."
"You didn't kill any of them, Draco."
"I did, just indirectly.
"You didn't fight with Voldemort."
"I didn't fight against him either."
"You can't rewrite history."
"I fucking know–"
"But you can write your future."
"I don't want to."
"What, you want to sit here and mope?"
"Yes. I want to wallow in my guilt and sadness. I want to–" He cuts off when you kiss him.
"I want to do that again." He says quietly.
"Then get up and take me to dinner."
"Darling–"
"Come on, Malfoy. I'll buy you ice cream."
"Chocolate?"
"Chocolate."
"Fine."
