House of glass
You live inside of your house of glass
You keep it so nice and so clean
So the sunshine pours in
You can feel its warmth
Pretend you are alive
You're locked away
That isn't life
Can't you see something's missing
Don't you want the warm breeze
It tangles your hair but brightens your smile
Don't you want to hear the birds chirp
Hear the songs they sing
We can look in but you keep us out
The doors are locked
The windows are bolted
You can see us outside
Yet you stay inside
One too many times I've run into that door
Though a few cracks have formed
I've decided to knock this time
I want you to feel
To listen
To speak and be heard
If you're in your glass house
We won't hear a word
I'm asking you
Begging you
Pleading
Come out of the glass house
Let it shatter around your feet
