" Oh, yeah! I just remembered, Danny! George and I have something awesome to show you!" Fred said and got up from his chair, George following right after.
" I'm sorry, but I'm quite tiered. Maybe some other time. Today I just want to relax until we celebrate tonight. But maybe we can play quidditch later?"
"Yes!" the twins exclaimed and high fived.
" You are under no circumstances doing that! It's winter! What if you fall off your brooms because you froze too much!" Molly scolded them and the boys all groaned.
" But mum!"
" Molly, I actually think we should get to do it. Just this once. We are not going to fly too high and we will have warm clothes. Besides, this is good training for games in bad weather. They won't cancel the games just because of some rain. Plus, if we fall, the snow catches us. If anything, we should train flying now while the ground is still soft." I argued and the Weasley siblings came with sounds of agreement. If it was anything that this family loved, it was quidditch.
"... Alright then. But no higher then five meters above the ground!"
" Aye, aye Laird!" the twins said, saluting before running upstairs. After that I didn't do much. I hid inside my trunk. When Ginny discovered that was where I was, she complained until I let her inside, but made her promise not to tell the others of that space because it was a girl-secret. With her help, I smuggled down some pillows that they didn't need anymore. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to make the cold wood floor comfortable, so we went out of it again to find something more.
" Mum! Didn't you say we had some old couch we didn't need anymore?" Ginny asked as we looked in to the kitchen where Mrs. Weasley, with the help of some magic, made enough food for a twenty witches. Or six hungry children.
" Yes, I did. A horrible thing. I put it in the attic. Why?"
" Oh, me and Danie just wanted to see if we could have it in my room, that's all." she quickly replied, and I thanked the gods that her brothers had taught her the art of lying.
" I don't think you want it. It's far too old. And it stinks. Maybe your father has something else in his garage you can use? God knows what he's keeping in there." Molly said before returning to whatever she was doing.
" Let's check that couch out anyways. Maybe I can fix it with some of the spells in my books." I said, and we both made our way up there.
The couch -if you even could call it that - was a disgrace to other sofas. The padding stack out of holes that were everywhere on it, and there was discolored smudges on the cushions that made me dread what had made them." There's a tiny chance I can save it. But I'll need new cloth, a needle and thread first. Quickly, ask Molly if she has any. I'll be in the trunk, looking for the spell I'll need." I said and we both left the attic.
I opened one of the boxes with books and poured everything in it out on the floor.
I started placing everything in two piles. One that was books that could have the necessary spells and one where I knew they didn't. Soon I did the same with the other box and was left with ten potential books and sighed tiredly. Just then, I heard knocking on the lid of the trunk and in came Ginev with a pile of orange clothing and green thread.
" Good! Now we just need to get the sofa down here, and find that spell. It should be in on of these books. Or wait..." I said and started look through the books once more.
" I think... the author was named something on G... which means... it's one of these two!" I said and placed the books in front of us.
" The spells we are looking for is a cleaning spell which erases the smell. The second one is a sewing spell which causes the needle to sew just as you want it to. A bit like what Madam Malkin does in her shop in Diagon alley." I explained and we started looking through the list of chapters which are in the book for a chapter the spell might be under.
" Is it this one?" Ginny asked and showed me a spell.
"...No, not that one. But it's almost right so it's probably somewhere in that chapter." I said after reading it, and we went back to searching. Ten minutes later, we found what we looked for and we exited the trunk so that I could use wingardium leviosa to get the sofa out of the attic.
Well there I gave us some light by using lumos. Together we ripped off the fabric off the couch before I used the spells we had found. It took me all my concentration to manage using the cleaning spell correctly, and when I was done entirely, I was drained from all the magic usage.
" Wow, Dan. You're so cool! I wish I could use magic without a wand like you." she said and looked at me in awe.
" Well, maybe I can teach you sometime. And if I leave before that, I think I brought the book which I learned from." I said and dried sweat away from my forehead.
" Okay!" she said happily and looked like a little puppy that just fetched a really big stick.
Together we managed to push the sofa inside my trunk without breaking anything, and when we were back down in her room and inside the trunk again, I could say that I'd done a pretty good job for never having used the spells before in my entire life.
We threw the pillows up on the couch and laid down. Our backs were against the couch's side and our legs outstretched over the cushion.
A tiered sigh left me and I picked up a book, but had to stop reading after just ten minutes when I realised I had read the same sentence for half of that time.
Bored, I looked over at Ginev. She had taken the freedom to read one of my books. Looking closer, I raised a questioning eyebrow, but didn't say anything when I saw that the title of the book was Magic, the art of using it without wands.
When I found nothing else to do, I just stared at the roof until I found myself falling asleep.
