Next time I woke up, my vision wasn't quite as hazy as before and I had started to digest all the information I had received. I saw my mom lying next to me in the bed and I smiled. She must have stayed with me in stead of going over to Mrs. Wayne. I'm glad that even in a fictional world like this, people - or perhaps muggels is more appropriate now - can still choose to do things their way.
The sound of the doorbell woke me up entirely and I sat up and started shaking my mother for her to wake up as well.
It didn't take long and soon she was on her way down to open, giving me orders to stay in bed and rest. Of course I ignored that entirely and followed her.
When I saw the man standing there by the open front door I smiled and called out to him before running in to his open arms.
" Hey sweet heart!! Oh your dad has missed you, you know! And you have grown! You must have grown at least two meters!!!" he exclaimed as he lived me up, making me giggle at his exaggeration.
" Put her down Oliver! She's sick! And you, young lady, I told you to stay in bed."
" But I feel better now! And it's real!! It's all real!!" I exclaimed and jumped out of dad's arms and in to the living room where the door to our backyard also happened to be.
" He is real~! He i~is re~al! And magic's real too!!! Yes!!!! This is gonna be the best day of my li~I~ves!! My li~i~i~i~i~i~ives!" I sang with all of my heart and ran around the room." Danie! " dad exclaimed surprised and I first mistook it for anger from me jumping on the sofa, so I stopped. It still couldn't stop my excitement from knowing that one of my best friends was the boy who lived.
As fast as I stopped jumping he ran over to me, lifted me up by the waist and went to the backyard as far away from the windows he could get without leaving the lawn." Dad! I know you don't believe me but magic exist!! It actually exist!" I said happily as fast as my feet touched the ground.
" I know sweetie, I know."
" Wait, what!?! You do?"
" Yes I do. But I need you to focus on calming down instead. Think of something calming." he said with such a smooth voice that I listened. I closed my eyes to be able to focus and I could feel how a few strands of hair fell in front of my face my. I ignored it.
"... And while you're at it, think about your hair colour."
My eyes opened directly after hearing that last part. Focus on my hair color? Why would that be good? The first thing I noticed was how a big part of my line of vision was blocked by something malenta red.
With shaking hands I tucked my hair back behind my ears. My eyes nearly fell out of their sockets when
I realized that the red disappeared together with it."Wha- What the heck!?! My hair's red!"
" Don't think about it. Just focus on calming down. Okay?" dad said and held my head in between both of his hands, forcing me to look only look in to his brown eyes.
In lost for better things to do, I did as he told me. As I calmed down, his grip loosened until he let go of me entirely, and when he did, I opened my eyes again only to see my hair having the same old blonde hair color it always had.
" D-dad?" I asked and let out a hiccup. He didn't answer me, he just hugged me and whispered calming nonsense.
' What was that with my hair? Was that magic? Does that mean I'm a muggleborn witch? But dad said he knew magic exist. Did he just say that to calm me down or did he actually know about it? If he wasn't lying, does that mean he's a wizard?'
Thoughts like that crowded my mind. I realised after a while that the only way I would find out the truth was by asking, so that's what I did." I guess I should have told you earlier. I'm sorry sweetheart. I guess I never found the moment to tell you. I'm- I am what we call a wizard. Your mother on the other hand is normal. In the wizard world that's called being a muggle. I prefer saying mundane. Has a nicer ring to it."
" So- so I'm a witch?!? Does- does momma know?" I asked. It wasn't before that sentence I truly understood how much of an emotional wreck I was. I hadn't said momma about my mother in years.
" Yes you are. A child filled with magic and wonders and no, she doesn't know. I was afraid of how she would react. Funny when I think about it. A Griffindor who was afraid of telling his own wife he was a wizard." Dad said and seemed to get a bit lost in old memories.
" Griffindor?" I asked and dried a tear in the corner of my eye.
Of course I remembered the term. But I was surprised dad was a Griffindor. I would have thought he was maybe a Hufflepuf. Although the Griffindor robes would fit him.
" I'll tell you about that later. There's other things that's more important to explain. Like the thing that just happened to your hair and how you control it. After all, we are not the only wizards and witches in the world and we have sworn to not tell others about us. If you walked around the streets and changed hair colour whennever, mundanes would notice."
I gave him a weak smile. Of course they would notice. They're not stupid.
" What happen to my hair?"
" It's called to be a Metamorphmagus. You can change your physical appearance however you want. I'm not one, but your grandma was. Not many wizards have the ability. You're special sweetheart."
I wanted to laugh at that. Because seriously, first of, I can remember all of my lives, then I found out I'm a witch and lastly, I'm one of the few people with magical powers that can change their looks without spells or poisons. So yeah... you can probably say I'm special.
" Can you teach me how to control it?"
" Yes, of course I can."
" Can I fake sick tomorrow to learn everything?" I asked and gave him my cutest puppy eyes.
