"The gun was aimed at the center of her chest as she stared her attacker dead in the eye, His eyes were familiar, warm even. They were Himchan's and he was going to shoot her. His finger slid over the trigger and a loud bang filled her ears." A cold sweat formed over Hayan's body as she sat up in her bed. It was just a nightmare afterall, but it left a bad taste in her mouth.
Glancing over to the clock on her nightstand she sighed. It was only 7:30 and she wanted nothing more than to sleep in. But Hayan knew herself too well for that, she wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. She pushed her comforter off of her body, slipped on some pyjama shorts and headed downstairs.
Meanwhile, Himchan grabbed a mug from the kitchen cupboard and poured himself a cup of coffee. His mornings were the only peace and quiet he got in a day and he knew today wasn't going to be quiet.
After Hayan went to bed, Himchan got a phone call telling him that a small upcoming gang burned a weapons shipment the B.A.P was going to recieve that day. He was fuming and ready to take lives, but he held it in. That was the last thing he wanted Hayan to see.
While sipping his coffee, he heard light footsteps coming down the stairs. Smiling to himself, he grabbed another mug and filled it for her. Seeing her before he left to take care of business calmed him down slightly. She rounded the corner, wearing an oversized black t-shirt tucked into pyjama shorts. Hayan's hair was a mess and she looked half awake and in Himchan's opinion, she looked adorable.
"Good morning." He said and she looked at him with a frown. "Do you need to go?" Hayan asked with a slight pout and stared at his suit. He nodded sheepishly and handed her the mug. "Something came up last night that I need to take care of. Sleep well?" He said, changing the subject quickly and their eyes met. Hayan was suddenly reminded of the nightmare and a chill ran up her spine.
"I was and then I had a bad dream and now I'm here." Hayan said before sipping from her mug and humming in content. "That's a shame." Himchan said and his cellphone rang. Looking at Hayan apologetically he answered.
"Yongguk?" He asked, waiting for an answer. "Yes, sir. We found them. It took a while, they were hiding around the old boat yard by the old marina. We've put them in our office, just waiting on your command." Yongguk told him and Himchan looked back at Hayan who was yawning.
"I'll be down there soon. In the meantime, let Jongup have some fun. But not too much fun, these guys need to able to speak when I get there." Himchan said and hung up. His anger slowly restoring, he slammed his hands down on the counter. The action surprised Hayan so much, she almost dropped her mug and a yelp escaped her lips.
Himchan immediately turned around and looked at the frightened female. His action only reminded her of the dream she had. Himchan saw the fear in her eyes and she saw regret in his.
"I'm sorry but please know this anger is not towards you and I will never lay a finger on you." Himchan said and she broke their staredown by looking at the floor. "I believe you. You just scared me." She paused and placed herself infront of him.
She was shorter than him, that's why she had to look up at him. The way she looked at him made his mind foggy, like he couldn't think straight. Her hands went up to his tie and straightened it out before speaking.
"You're different, way more different than I thought you were. You're comforting, I didn't expect that. You're kind, I didn't expect that either. Thank you Himchan."She said and before she could pull her hands away, he caught them in his. Himchan's hands were large and rough, a little scar gracing the skin of his right hand. "Don't thank me. I did what someone normal should." Himchan was humble, Hayan definitely didn't expect that.
They let go of eachother and Himchan slipped his phone into his pocket. "I have to get going. I you need something or if something happens, call me."He said with an apologetic voice. "Okay." She replied and then watched him leave. Before he exited the house he looked back, catching one last glimpse of her taking care of business.
Himchan got to his car, mind totally foggy. Hayan was filling his mind and it was either good, or terrible. Being distracted wasn't necessarily good in his line of work. You need a clear mind so you can handle what comes at you. Himchan's mind wasn't clear and that could be fatal.
When he got to the office, he was greeted by Junhong who looked quite somber. "How much of the shipment was totalled?" Himchan asked and Junhong followed him inside. "All of it, nothing was salvagable."He said and Himchan's hands balled into fists.
They rounded the corner and entered a large room with two men tied down in chairs. Himchan's blood boiled at the sight. Jongup and Yongguk were sat down across from them, Jongup had bloody knuckles. The other's faces were bruised and bloody and that made Himchan feel better.
"Got them ready for you, boss." Jongup spoke with a smile. Himchan looked at Yongguk, who seemed just as pissed off as he was. "Good." Himchan stated, voice booming through the room. Anyone not from that business would have been terrified. Himchan stood himself infront of the two troublemakers with a stern look on his face.
"This is how this is going to go: You guys are going to tell me who what why, when I ask. If you don't I will kill you." Himchan said, looking at the two.
One had dyed hair and had tattoos everywhere. He seemed much older than Himchan, which was in Himchan's opinion hilarious. The other man was young, younger than Junhong even.
The eldest was not afraid, he seemed cocky and proud under the cuts and bruises on his face. The younger one seemed terrified and Himchan had a weak spot for lost souls.
"Who told you to destroy my shipment?"" Himchan asked, scanning over them. "Don't say anything, kid." The eldest said, turning to the other. Himchan faced the younger and read the fear on his face. "What's your name kid?" Himchan asked, kneeling down in front of him. "My name's Jeno." He said, voice shaking.
"Shut up! Don't tell him anything." His accomplice yelled and Himchan sighed at the action. "Someone please gag him." The leader demanded and watched as Yongguk followed his orders. "I won't hurt you further, Jeno. You just need to tell me what I need to know. Now, who's your boss?" Himchan repeated and watched Jeno's internal struggle.
"His name's Jung-suk."Jeno said and Himchan's heart stopped, that was a name he hadn't heard in a long time. "Jong-suk, wouldn't let his men get caught so easily. He's also been gone for a while." Himchan said and Jeno panicked. "I swear I'm not lying! He's back." Jeno cried out, tears slowly streaming over his cheeks. "Quiet now, I believe you. Now tell me everything you know. And guys get rid of him, Jeno and I have things to discuss." Himchan said and watched his men carry out his commands.
Junhong watched the way he spoke to Jeno it reminded him how fair Himchan was. It also reminded him of how much Himchan had helped him. Junhong was utterly greatful.
Back at Himchan's house, Hayan walked around exploring. Tip-toeing past a large bookshelf, she ran her fingers over the spines. She admired the different titels, some being in English, Chinese and Japanese. She wandered further and stopped infront of a window.
She had a perfect view of the backyard. It was large and green with a swimming pool. Her eyes scanned the yard with admiration, when something caught her eye. There was someone hidden in the bushed, staring back at her. He had a phone in his hand and was watching.
Hayan quickly backed away from the window in fear. Grabbing her phone from her pocket, she immediately dialed Himchan's number and waited for him to pick up.
