Chapter 7 – The City Once More
The three travelers now found themselves inside Friedland City as they still rode on the motorcycle with the cart attached to it. Draven sat on the cart as he smoked another cigarette while Lei sat behind Seiryu as she held on to his waist as he drove the motorcycle.
The city itself had the look of an industrialized center of activity, but it was a bit different from Herac city. Unlike the aforementioned city, Friedland City looked a bit more oriented to the desert and its structures were not as tall as the ones in the capital. There were a lot of combatants in the city as well as the presence of State Mercs made it troublesome for others to exit and enter the city.
There were some highways present in the city to indicate that it was a modernized one and also there were some malls and other necessity outlets present alongside the structures that surrounded the city too. But, besides all that structure, the city didn’t look as busy as the capital.
“So it was really luck that we snuck by that entrance huh?” Lei whispered to Seiryu as she held on tight to his waist.
“Not so much luck.” Draven said as he puffed out some smoke. “It was more that they didn’t notice us going in due to the huge amount of vehicles going in as well.” He said to her.
“So where to?” Seiryu asked her as he drove around the roads of the city now.
“Wait.” Lei said as she was eyeing out the surroundings. Seiryu kept going straight as she now found a familiar landmark to her which came in a form of an intersection on the road. “Turn left here.” She commanded the hooded fighter and he complied with her request.
The silver haired girl then now knew that she was in familiar territory as the motorcycle was still moving on the road with decent speed. She then saw a familiar place to her.
“Slow down here.” Lei said to the hooded fighter and he proceeded to slow the motorcycle down and eventually they reached a stop.
It turns out that they had parked outside a café that looked good enough to be a mini-hotel as well. Its walls were light blue in color while the roof was dark blue in color instead. Seiryu, Lei and Draven now got off the vehicle that they were riding and proceeded to walk towards the entrance of the café.
“Café El Dorado?” Draven said as he continued to smoke his cigarette.
Seiryu on the other hand fixed up his hood in order to conceal his face. His eyes weren’t helping for they shone underneath the hood with a crimson hue.
Lei pushed open the door gently as the other two followed her lead. They made their way towards the bartender’s counter and they sat down on the chairs present. The café had some customers in it as they were enjoying their drinks while they did their own businesses.
One can see that some were reading newspapers while the others were on a date with their loved ones. Seiryu observed the place as he thought that this was actually one of the places that could be classified as safe.
“So what’ll it be?” a female bartender had appeared on the counter as she saw the three new customers seated on the bartender’s counter. Her appearance included brown colored hair, eyes that were emerald in color and she was wearing a uniform that resembled the appearance of the Café with the apron overlapping on it.
“The usual.” Lei said as she waved her hands at her. Immediately the bartender knew who she was.
“Lei!” she shouted as she gave her a quick hug. The bartender then saw that she had two companions with her.
“Hey there Gail.” She said as the bartender now proceeded to prepare her drink.
“So it would seem that you found new friends.” Gail said as she prepared drinks for al three of them now.
