Chapter 14 – Disbelief

Yue sat in her office as she felt the familiar platinum chain around her right wrist. She was dressed in a yellow shirt and she wore a black leather jacket over it. She was wearing faded blue jeans and black leather boots. There were a lot of report folders on her table suggesting that she had been researching on the Rogue’s whereabouts since the past two days. The Rogue who she knew now as Seiryu, the person who was the most important in her life is now wanted by the State.

“What have you gotten yourself into?” she asked out loud as she took a file folder on her desk and began to read the Intel inside it.

“Nothing.” She said as she threw away the file folder. “Where has he gone now?” she asked as a vivid image of him appeared in her mind. The clothes that he was wearing, his darkness and his weapon raised against them were the most prevalent features that she had remembered. “I don’t want to do this.” She said as she dropped the file folder that she was about to read.

“It could be impossible that he caused the infectious darkness but the information that we had gathered doesn’t say otherwise.” She thought to herself as she ruffled things around her office desk.

A knock on her door was heard.

“Come in.” she said and who came from her door was the calm warrior known as Lucian. He was dressed in a black V neck shirt and grey jeans. His shoes were white sneakers.

“Oh Lucian it’s you.” She said. “Have you recovered?” Yue asked afterwards.

“I’m fine don’t worry.” He said with a smile on his face. He sat on a chair that was on the front side of Yue’s desk. “I’m more worried about you.” Lucian replied to her.

“That’s about right I guess.” She said to him.

“You were hesitating.” He said to her. “Not only you, but the rest of the squad deployed to hunt him down are hesitating.” Lucian added.

“Why wouldn’t we?” she asked him in response. “He was our ally and he means so much to me…” she said out loud.

“You’re right.” Lucian said as he looked straight. “I hesitated too while I was fighting him.” He added.

“But how come he didn’t?” Yue asked out loud. She remembered the scenes of which Seiryu fought Lucian and Melfice and his face while he attacked was serious and his eyes shone a bright red.

“I can’t tell exactly.” He replied to her. “Maybe the darkness has taken him?” he tried to hypothesize.

“Impossible. The darkness he used against us was his. I felt that he was in control the whole time.” Yue replied to him.

“I agree.” Lucian said to him as he remembered the attack that Seiryu did. He punched the ground and flares of darkness had emerged from the ground. “He indeed has gotten stronger.” He added.
