"Juliet Moore."

The girl glanced over at her friends who grinned and nodded, gesturing for her to go up on stage.

It was her high school graduation.

Everything she had ever worked for had gotten her here and she couldn't be happier.

As Juliet walked up onto the stage, her eyes scanned the crowd. She couldn't see him. He promised her that he would be there.

She shrugged it off and stood next to the professor, making sure not to look at the crowd. She could either spot Ren who would make her feel safe, or she wouldn't which would result in a panic attack.

She chose not to test her options.

Accepting her diploma and giving a quick speech to thank her friends and family for the support or whatever, Juliet swiftly stepped off the stage only to be literally swept away behind it.

"Ren? I still don't understand how in hell you can move that quickly." she sighed, slightly out of breath from shock.

"I promised you i would come, didn't i?" he smirked, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

Ren pulled away when Juliet didn't react and raised his eyebrow. "Come on babe, don't be grumpy." he laughed, placing a quick kiss on her lips.

"I thought you wouldn't show up."
"I know. I heard your heart rate increase when you went up."
"What?"
"I said i got you a graduation gift."

Juliet blinked when he finished speaking and looked down at the box that he got out of his back pocket.

She furrowed her eyebrows as he opened it and took out the necklace inside of it, dangling it in the air.

"It's a graduation present but it's also a going away present." he smiled lightly, placing it in her hands.

"Going away? Ren, Rosewall College is only 2 hours away from Rayville." Juliet said, looking at the necklace in her hands.

He smiled briefly before his smile turned into a frown, "No, baby, i'm the one going away but i don't want you worrying about that."

The girl didn't say anything. She just stared at the necklace in her hand before scrunching her nose slightly.
"Is there herbs in it or something?"
"Sort of, it's a herb called vervain."
"But why?"
"Just trust me when i say it'll keep you safe whilst i'm gone."

"You never tell me about any of these things, Ren. You leave it until the last minute to inform me, you do it anyway despite my objections and then you leave it as if it was nothing."

"Look at me." he said, cupping her face with his hands. Compelling her to forget him was the best way for her to move on. No memories to live or suffer by.

"Forget about me. Forget about the wonderful 2 years of our lives that we've spent together. The adventures, the compassion, all of it. When i leave, you're going to put that necklace on and think of it as nothing but a present from a highschool fling. You're going to live a healthy full life and you're going to accomplish everything you've ever wanted. I love you so much, Juliet. God, i wish you didn't have to forget about it, but you do."

Ren suddenly vanished and Juliet blinked again. She looked around the area feeling slightly disoriented.

"Juliet?" said a voice. She looked up to see that it was her bestfriend, Melissa.
"Are you gonna just stand there looking pretty or are you gonna come with me to the after party?"

Juliet stared at the necklace in her hands. She slipped it into her purse and nodded at Melissa.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world."
