"Good evening, Miss Eliza." Ren said, placing a kiss on the girl's hand.

Eliza smiled and looked around the room. "You wouldn't happen to know where your brother is, would you Lawrence?" she asked.

Ren shrugged, "In the living room with the landowners, i suppose."
"Thank you, Lawrence." she said, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek as she went off to find Charlie.

"Little do you know, Miss Eliza." he mumbled, putting on another smile as more guests started coming in.

Ren was stood outside of Juliet's house, watching her as she made dinner. He knew it was creepy but he wanted to see her. He had to make sure she was safe.

Ren was confused about the whole 'Charlie-in-my-head' incident that happened earlier. The idea of Charlie messing around in his brain because of boredom was understandable.

It was just the amount of effort it must've taken for the whole thing to take place that puzzled Ren.

Why would Charlie go through so much effort to just entertain himself?

Then Ren realised that it most probably wasn't because of boredom, but because Charlie needed information that Ren had.

The scenario with Juliet was just a diversion for what Charlie was really doing.

Ren didn't know what Charlie wanted, but he could also tell he didn't get it.

"Ren?" Juliet questioned, staring at the boy from the wide-open door.

He snapped out of his thoughts and gave her a weak smile as he ran a hand through his hair, "Hi."

"What are you doing here?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. The boy looked around for some inspiration for his answer but ended up letting out a sigh.

"Can you come outside a second, please?"
"Ren, that sounds kind of creepy."
"I just need some help. Please."

Juliet pursed her lips and glanced left and right before walking towards Ren. She reached up about half way into the front garden until she stopped and raised her hand into the air dismissively, "What now?"

Ren sped up to her and yanked the necklace, making the chain rip. Juliet gasped and stared at the remainder of the necklace in his hands as she attempted to comprehend what in hell had just happened.

Before she had a chance to even begin questioning Ren's actions, he had compelled her. "You invited me to dinner after we met again in the bar. You saw me coming and decided to come outside to greet me. You remember nothing weird that just happened other than you can't seem to find your misplaced necklace." he spoke slowly, making sure that the compulsion was working.

After he stopped speaking, Juliet blinked and looked around the garden, smiling when her eyes landed back on Ren.

"It's cold, don't you think?" she asked, "Come on, dinner's almost ready."

Ren followed her up to the front door, stopping when he remembered that vampires can't step into homes owned by humans unless they are invited in. As of now, Ren had never been to Juliet's house. Not her new one, anyway.

Juliet turned around and raised an eyebrow when she saw that Ren didn't follow her inside. "What are you waiting for? A formal invite?"
"Well, actually..." he chuckled nervously.

Juliet, obviously taking his response as a joke, laughed along and playfully rolled her eyes, "Do come in, sir Ren Williams."
"Why thank you, miss Juliet Moore." he said, letting out a small sigh of relief when he stepped through the front door without any problems.

___

"I'm really happy that you made it." Juliet said, cutting into her chicken. Ren gave a small hum as a response as he chewed.

"You were always such a great cook." he muttered, letting out a small laugh when Juliet raised her eyebrow.

"What did you say?"
"Oh nothing that you can know about at the moment, Juliet."

"Alrighty then," she paused to stand up, "I reckon it's time for dessert, what about you?"

Ren nodded and took both plates to the sink. "Oh, Ren. You don't have to do that." Juliet said, glancing over her shoulder.

"It's fine, don't worry." he smiled, not being able to help feeling slightly nostalgic.

Juliet nodded and got a tub of ice cream from the freezer. Ren's eyes widened and she let out a small laugh.

"Sorry it's not anything extravagant."
"No no, it's fine. I love ice cream."
"Yeah, i know."

Ren froze and raised his eyebrows at her words. 'Yeah, i know' spat at him. How did she know?

Juliet saw him looking slightly confused. "Oh god that sounds creepy. I meant you just looked like an ice cream loving guy."

Ren let out a sigh of relief and smiled and her, telling her it was fine. In reality, however, he wasn't sure it was.

Although it was something small, it was a memory nevertheless. A memory that his compulsion was meant to take away years ago.

He didn't know why she was remembering small things and he didn't know whether it would be problematic or not.

All he knew was that he should probably tell her that he was a vampire sooner rather than later.

If she accepted him, he might even be allowed remove the compulsion.

Ren learnt to take Charlie's threats seriously, even the overly intense ones.

So naturally, he fully believed that Charlie would take great joy in spilling all of his secrets to Juliet.

All Ren could do was make sure that was the one to do it first.

So essentially, that's what he did.

Or at least planned to do.
