"Hello?"
"Ah, brother! Good of you to pick up."

Ren let out a groan and slid further down into the bed. "What do you want, Charlie?" he asked, not really paying much attention until he mentioned Juliet.

"Back the fuck up. You told her what?"
"Ohhh nothing. I just dropped a few hints about your little blood addiction"

Ren sat up and clutched his phone, "You told the love of my life i was a vampire?"
"No, idiot. As i said, i dropped a few hints. You're the one that's going to tell her about your little vamp nature."

Ren put the phone down and furrowed his eyebrows. He got up and slowly made his way towards the front door.

When he opened it, he wasn't surprised to see Charlie standing there, smiling.
"Your vamp hearing is working great." he chuckled, pushing past Ren and throwing his body on the couch.

"I'm not going to tell her i'm a vampire." he said plainly, crossing his arms.

"Oh i'm sorry," Charlie paused to smirk, "i didn't realise you had a choice in this. I'm giving you a chance to have a relationship with this girl. A healthy relationship can't be built on lies."

"Oh, like you know anything about a healthy relationship." scoffed Ren.
"You better not be referencing Eliza, because if you are then i'll-"
"Kill me. That threat got old a century and a half ago, Charles. Find something better."

Charlie rolled his eyes and tsked, "You know, i've been meaning to ask you something."
"Ok. Go on."
"It was you that got Juliet that pretty little vervain necklace, right?"

Ren froze but quickly regained himself, "No."
"Ah come on, brother. Don't lie."

He shook his head and cleared his throat, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Charlie rolled his eyes. "Silver chain. Nice little emerald stone in the middle. Reeks of vervain." he said, cocking his head to the side.

Ren paused and pursed his lips, letting out a sigh. "What does this have to do with Juliet, Charlie?" he asked.
"I kinda had to find out that she wasn't compellable the hard way."
"And what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

Charlie put his hands up in defence, "Nothing, brother. I just showed her that there is such thing as vampires. You might wanna go clear things up with her."

Ren processed what he was just told and was out of the house within a few seconds, barely catching the smirk appearing on Charlie's face.

"Juliet!"

The girl looked up and furrowed her eyebrows as Ren ran towards her.

"Are you okay? What did Charlie do?" he asked, placing a hand on her shoulder.

She stared at her shoulder for a few moments before shrugging his hand off.

"Who are you?" she asked, staring at Ren who raised his eyebrows.
"I'm Ren," he spoke slowly, unsure whether she was being serious or not, "you don't remember me?"

Juliet shook her head and gave him a funny look before turning around to walk away.

Ren, however, was having none of it.

"Juliet, come back here." he said, taking a few strides forward to catch up with her. "I love you?" he suggested weakly.

Juliet stopped in her tracks and turned around to glare at him, "You can't say that about a stranger, Ren."

"Bravo." Charlie laughed as he came out of the shadows. The two turned around to face him and whilst Juliet's face lit up, Ren couldn't say that he was glad to see his brother.

"What are you doing here, Charlie?"
"I'm here to see my girl, of course."

Juliet ran up to Charlie and wrapped her arms around his torso, pressing her lips giddily against his.

As Ren stood there looking like an idiot with his jaw hanging low, he noticed that Juliet wasn't wearing her necklace.

Charlie compelled her.

"You compelled my girl to love you? That's sad, Charlie. Even for you."
"Ouch, brother. On the contrary though, she's loving the whole compulsion thing."

He paused to look down and smile at the girl, "Aren't you, sweetheart?"

Juliet nodded eagerly and grinned.

Charlie bit into his wrist and drew fresh blood, quickly looking around before offering it to Juliet. "Drink up, baby." he said, smirking when she gladly accepted it.

Ren sped up to Charlie and placed his hands on his neck but he simply laughed.

"I wouldn't do that if i were you."
"Why not?"
"Juliet has vampire blood in her system. Try to pull anything and i snap her neck, which if you've forgotten, will turn her into a vampire."

Ren pursed his lips but nodded nevertheless and reluctantly took a couple of steps back.

"Ha! Just kidding."

Charlie snapped the girls neck with one swift movement and before Ren knew it, she was lying on the floor. Dead.

She just began her transition.

"I can't believe you actually did this to me." he said eventually, not taking his eyes off of her body.
"Funny. Those were my thoughts exactly when you killed Eliza."
"Enough about bloody Eliza! Yes, i killed the love of your life or whatever but you know killing her wasn't my intention."

Charlie scoffed and shook his head, "Whether it was your intention or not, brother, you killed my soulmate. Your eternity of debt has not yet been fulfilled."

Ren glanced down at the girl on the ground and shook his head, "I think it just has."

Charlie rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, "Ugh, you're no fun. Just wake up you drama queen."

Ren sat up, suddenly very alert of his surroundings.

He turned around to face Charlie who was kneeling down beside him, smirking.

"What did you do to her? Where's Juliet?" Ren questioned, getting up from the park bench he appeared to be lying on.

"Relax. She's at her house. Still a boring human. I got bored so i decided to get into your head. Dark, dark place by the way."

Before Ren got a chance to reply, Charlie was gone.

a/n school's out by the end of this month for half term and i'm going on holiday w my bestfriend so it's gonna be fuN

i don't appreciate time going by so quickly though. it's 3ish months until 2018 and i haven't completed any of my 2017 resolutions oOps
