Leah dodged the bullet and leapt at the blonde. As the shot rang out, Officer Swan fired at the brown haired man. He fell, and Officer Swan kicked the weapon out of his reach just as Leah wrestled the gun out of the blondes hand.

"Idiotic human." Leah muttered under her breath. She glanced over where Officer Swan was cuffing the brown haired man. He had only been shot in the arm. Blood oozed out, but it seemed to not be effecting the blood suckers. Grinning wickedly down on the man she straddled, she said, "Behave, 'kay blondee?" Leah got off him only to roll him over so Officer Swan could cuff him.

Another scent caught her nose, as well as the others. Well, the others other than the humans. It was more blood, coming from inside the rundown trailer. Edward reached the trailer before she did, and opening its door released the overpowering metallic smell of blood.

A person, barely visible in darkness of the trailer, sagged against the opposite wall. Blood seeped into the rag of a blanket around them. Edward effortlessly snapped the chain of the cuff on their wrist, and picked them up. Stepping out of the trailer, firelight fell on the persons face, revealing a teenage girl.

Her hair, wavy and sandy blonde, glowed like a halo around her face. Her skin was pale, with a few delicate freckles spattering her cheeks. Long flowy lashes, and full lips turning purple. One side of her lip was puffed, as if recently hit by someone.

As soon as Leah saw her face, something clicked. The sudden urge to protect this strange girl overwhelmed her. Leah leapt forward carefully snatching the girl away from Edward, a growl emanating from her throat.

Edward, confused, raised his hands and stepped back in a non-threatening way. "She needs to get to our house, she's going to bleed out otherwise."

The girl was scarily weightless in Leah's arms, and she knew Edward was right. The girls eyes flickered open then shut again. As much as she disliked bringing the girl to a house full of bloodsuckers, it was much closer than the hospital. The girl in her arms whimpered as she handed her back to Edward.

"Bella, run ahead to get everyone out of the house except Carlisle." She dashed away.

"I have to come with you." Leah said muscles taught, ready to dash behind Edward if he seemed he would try to take the girl without Leah.

"Sure, sure. Let's go." They dashed off, through the woods. Bringing a bleeding girl into a home of vampires.
