Sunday came and went. I stayed inside the whole day watching Netflix and catching up on homework. The storm had continued the entire day. It had kept the whole pack indoors. Only a few were caught outside, quickly regretting their decision as they raced back inside.
Monday had rolled around and the entire pack was at ease as the storm let up a little. It was still raining, but not as bad as the previous days. I braided my hair into a simple French braid, then pulled out grey sweatpants and a black hoodie. Dressing comfortably was the only option in this weather.
I walked out of my bedroom and into the kitchen. I was running late today so my brother and father would have to fend for themselves when it came to breakfast. I removed my father's reminder to take my medicine off of the fridge then opened it. My eyes searched the contents it held until they landed on yogurt.
I quickly grabbed the yogurt cup and shut the fridge. I downed my medicine with a glass of water then stored my yogurt in the front pouch of my backpack. Placing my hood securely over my head I raced for the door.
As soon as I opened the door, I was hit with a rush of wind and rain. "Great." I muttered to myself. I hated driving in the rain. My anxiety was always at an all time high when I drove in it. The risk of a car accident was higher, plus I got in my first car accident when it was raining. Some teenager rear-ended me then drove off. Papa wasn't happy, but he knew it wasn't my fault.
Lost in my thoughts, I failed to notice Nathan pull into my driveway with his black Infinity Q50. He rolled down his window and gestured for me to come. I sighed then quickly walked towards his side of the window. "Get in I'll take you to school." I shook my head stubbornly. "No thanks, I can drive."
He groaned in frustration. "Parmus just get in." I sighed then walked to the passenger's side.
I slid in then closed the door behind me. He backed out of the driveway after I was buckled into my seatbelt. "Thanks." I finally said after five minutes of awkward silence. "No problem. Your brother told me how driving in the rain made you nervous." I mentally rolled my eyes.
Don't they have something better to talk about then my phobia of driving in the rain?
I guess my facial expression gave away a little more than I intended as he quickly regretted his choice of words. "Aw shít, I didn't mean to make you upset." I shook my head and chuckled, making light of the situation. "No it's fine." He sighed in relief as he was let off the hook.
We made it to the school with 10 minutes to spare. I silently thanked the mood goddess. Another tardy and I would be spending my afternoon in detention. I had outdone my tardies from sleeping in far too many times. But in my defense, I blame my teachers for forcing me to stay up late working on essays and projects.
I had contemplated dropping my AP classes more than I'd like to admit. But I really wanted to get into a good college, so I did what I had to. I had always thought the idea of being a pack doctor interesting and wanted to pursue it. Believe it or not, I was actually a morning person.
"Wait." Nathan said as I reached for the door. I furrowed my brows in confusion but sat back in my seat. "What is it Nathan?" His chocolate eye met my dark blue ones. "Would you like to do something after school?" I narrowed my eyes while I studied his face.
"No." I finally answered.
His eyes went wide, my words catching him off guard. I instantly burst into laughter. "I'm just kidding! You should have seen your face." He sunk into his seat and sighed in relief. "Okay you got me there." He admitted.
