I couldn't believe it. Sting and Rogue were really a part of Fairy tail. How strange it was for our enemies to join us.
Once the two dragon slayer twins stepped out of the masters office and towards the bar, they got their Fairy tail emblem after their Sabertooth mark was wiped away with magic.
Not a single person wasn't talking about them. Everyone was just as shocked as I was. Now we had five dragon slayers.
I turned my gaze back to Levy, but she was gone, my eyes searched over the guild hall and I spotted her talking to Juvia nearby. I thought I saw a few glares flash in my direction from the blue haired water wizard, Juvia.
For some reason, she always thought Gray and I liked each other or something. That's silly, he's like my older brother. I can't get that through her thick skull though.
I stood up, deciding I'd find Gajeel and convince him to join the dancing competition.
As I walked out of the doors of the guild hall, figuring I'd probably find the Iron munching trouble maker at the dump or something, I felt a warm sensation sizzle up my spine.
I turned my head back, I knew someone had been brining their gaze into my back, I had felt it. On the other end of the hall, Sting quickly turned his head. So he had been staring at me?
I remembered all of a sudden, when we were in the alleyway, how he had pressed up against me, how his lips brushed over my ear lobe as he whispered in my ear. How he had looked at me....
I turned my flushed face away and hurriedly walked into town and towards the dump. What was this strange feeling?
................................................
I eventually found Gajeel, he wasn't at the dump, which meant I had to run around town trying to find him, Levy should be grateful for having a friend like me. Gajeel was at a bar, practicing his songs on stage. Once the people kicked him off, I ran to him and helped him carry his things out of the building.
"Why do you want to talk to me? I've got stuff to do." He grunted outside the bar.
"Sheesh, can't I have a nice little conversation with a friend every once in awhile?" I smiled politely and gave a little shrug.
He stared into my eyes for a long time. Thinking.
"You're doing something for Levy, aren't you?"
I must admit, I was a little impressed.
"How did you know?"
He only shook his head and rolled his eyes.
"Well, she was wondering if...."
Oh shoot. How do I say this again? I kind of froze up, forgetting what I was going to say.
"Come on...." He impatiently shuffled his feet. "I don't got all day."
"Since you two are good friends, why don't you go to the dance competition together? She's been wanting to go really badly. It would mean the world if she got to go."
"Why does she have to go with me?"
Sheesh. Rude much?
"Um, because your a good friend of hers? I don't know, I just thought you two would be a perfect team. You light even get to sing a song or two."
"Shiny-doo-bah! I'm in! But wait-" he groaned. "Isn't it like a couples dance or something?"
"Heh, heh, yeah..."
Gajeel simply turned away with his things and took off down the street. I tried to follow him, but I lost him after he disappeared into the crowd gathering for the festival.
"I don't know what he sees in him..." I sigh.
It was getting dark out and they were lighting the festival lights. I should head back and tell Levy I did it... Kind of. Is Gajeel even gonna go? He will unless he wants a Lucy kick straight to the face.
Once I turn around, I run into something sturdy and tall.
"Ouch!" I blink surprise to see it was Gray I had run into.
"Oh, sorry. Wasn't really paying any attention to where I was going."
The ice wizard wasn't looking so good. His head was dropping and his gaze was distant, as if he was looking at something far away. He wasn't focused.
"Are you okay?"
He only nodded and walked on past me, his hands shoved deeply in his pockets and his head bobbing as he walked on.
Whoa. That was so unlike him.
Once back at the guild, I opened the doors to find......
"FIRE DRAGON ROAR!" A powerful burst of flames exploded from Batsu and slammed into Sting.
"Come on." I grumbled.
"Lucy!" Levy ran up to me.
No one looked like they cared Natsu and Sting were dueling in the middle of the guild haul, Erza looked like she was about to take care of them anyways, they'd be fine. Well, this is Erza were talking about so their injuries might not be exactly 'fine'.
"Did you..." Levy blushed.
"Oh, um, yeah I talked to him, I think he's going with you, but you're going to have to talk to him, because he kind of walked off on me without an answer." I say, feeling sorry for my friend.
Levy sighed. Then walked off looking miserable. I wish I could force Gajeel to go with her. Why can't he see she really likes him?
Just like I had predicted, Natsu and Sting were in a daze on the floor, Erza had knocked some sense into them obviously. Rogue and the two exceeds were hovering over Sting.
"You were really asking for it that time." Rogue said.
I passed by them and pulled Natsu off the floor with a heave.
"Whoa! You are not as light as you look. I don't know how Happy is able to lift you up so easily."
Natsu brushed himself off and shot a few more glares towards Sting before following me to a table that hadn't been damaged front whir fight.
"So what was that about? Was it actually worth it?" I hold my head in my hands and stare at him.
Natsu explains in an agitated tone how Sting said something about Sabertooth having a cooler guild hall. something silly like that.
I smile. Natsu will never learn, will he?
