Demeter's Curse

Chapter 5

      One day  new the great heroes of Greece went to the city named Elassona to save the people from 3 wild boars. The heroes names were Heron, Leon,  Methodios, Nikandros, and Pantheras. After these 5 men saved the villagers they went to a hotel where they heard a person talking about the myth about the gods of Olympus falling asleep for millions of years. Leon went straight to his I Phone 5c. He looked for more info on this subject and then he found it, he found the myth. Demeter’s Curse. In the beginning of the myth it started just like other stories about Persephone getting taken by Hades to the Underworld but then there was a twist. Instead of Zeus sending Hermes to Hades to get Persephone back, Zeus refused. Instead of Demeter getting her daughter back, she didn’t instead almost all of the gods including the minor gods made Demeter so angry that she cursed them all and made them sleep for 4 million years or until a Greek hero comes and saves them. That was the part that caught Heron’s eyes. Heron always wanted to be a god since he was very little and if he saved the gods then they might reward him with immortality or he might even become a god! The only one of the 5 that didn’t believe this myth was Methodios. He thought that this was just foolish fairy tales. The other 4 begged him to go on the journey to Mt. Olympus with them and if the story is true then what is it to lose?

    Methodios agreed because he didn’t want to hurt his friends feelings. Once they started up for the mountain Nikandros, and Pantheras got lost!! Nikandros, and Pantheras called Heron and said that they will all meet each other up on the top of the mountain. The wind was howling like they were wolves. Snow was falling and they were about to turn into hero-pop. Birds and trees were shivering with them. Nikandros, and Pantheras never gave up and Heron, Leon, and Methodios didn’t either. About a day later all 5  of them got safely up the mountain. Leon was the first one to see the glistening of the gods. They ran as fast as they could but about 3 hours later  they heard a rumbling sound underneath them. Nikandros yelled out, “Run!! Come on we need to keep running to the palace!” Soon all of them started sprinting and didn’t stop to catch a breath until they finally got up to the palace.

                As soon as all five of them got to the throne room, they saw the mighty king Zeus and a huge note right next to him. About a minute later the note spoke and said this, “ Welcome to Mt. Olympus. You must save all of the gods, but if you don’t then they will all be doomed for another 3 million years.” “What must we do?” asked Pantheras. “ You need to find the goddess Demeter and wake her up. You can also find magical seeds in her room that will grow as quickly as you put them to the ground. Demeter will think that her daughter came back from the underworld so she will wake up.” said the voice, “After this happens ask her to bring life back to the gods and the you must give Demeter some food and water so she will make your wish come true.

               Quickly they hurried to Demeter’s room and is hoping to find the seeds and Demeter there. Luckily they found a  man named Athanasios. Athanasios told them that the seeds were on top of her counter. Leon grabbed the seeds then sprinkled them to the ground hoping for the best. Flowers sprang quickly but quietly up into the air. Demeter slowly raise and awakened. Heron got out some food and water to the goddess and she took it. “ What do you want?” she asked. “ Can you please awaken all of the gods? we would like to save you all.” said Heron. “You already saved us and you will be rewarded.”

                          1 week later

           The gods rewarded them by giving them powers and also immortality. soon the gods figured out how life had changed a lot since they were awake. The gods bought these new gadgets and started a journey of their own. They bought phones, computers, TVs, heaters, lamps, cameras, radios, ipods, and many more. They learned more about their new life and they are still learning even more. The gods are back and that is the way that it is supposed to be.
