Carl's POV
_________
I woke up at the break of dawn to the whaling sobs of my younger sister- a fun new habit she picked up last week. I threw on a clean shirt and headed out to take her on a walk that always seemed to calm her down. As I pushed the stroller threw the safe haven, I saw few people about. There was Morgan, who liked to use the sunrise to practice his staff moves. Tara and Denise sat on there porch drinking lemon-aid. While Gabrielle stood at the watch post closest to the entrance.
He has definitely proved himself in the last couple of months.
But one other figure caught my eye in the dimmed light; Mack. She's new so of course I had never seen her on my morning walk before.
"Hey Carl," I turned back to the infirmaries deck to look at Tara. "You know, I haven't really seen Judy in a while,so maybe you might consider letting us watch her for a bit while you go and make friends." A smiled at her and wheeled Judith over to them.
"Thanks," she winked at me while Denise just laughed at us, picking up Judith and setting her on her lap.
I exited the porch and made my way towards the girl who lay peacefully under the gazebo. Getting closer I noticed that she had a backpack sitting down next to her, was she going somewhere?
"You know in some cultures it is considered rude to stare at people you just met." She turned her head towards me as I drew closer. "Oh yeah? Well it is also considered weird to be laying in the center of a town you just came to." Her eyebrows raised to me and she slowly pulled herself up.
"And who said this was my first time here." I rolled my eyes and plopped down next her. Max had already told me yesterday about her last visit to Alexandria, meaning that she knows about what happened with my eye. Which also explains why she hadn't asked about it yet, but quite frankly, it wasn't any of her damn business.
"What are you doing out here anyway?"
"Well if you must know, I was trying to leave but my jackass of a brother had told the priest not to let me out, so I'm currently waiting for him to switch shifts." I frown at the response given. "Maybe you should just stop running."
"What-"
"I'm just saying that running away from things only pushes the ones who care about you farther away. That's exactly what you're doing." I shrug my shoulders when I finish and see that she had gathered her thing and stood up.
"You're an asshole."
I sighed as she walked down the street. I too stood up and went to go retrieve Judith who was now growing tired. "Thanks for watching her," they just smiled back at me and said 'you're welcome.' They would be amazing mothers one day.
I walked back to my house and lay Judith back in her crib to hopefully sleep a little longer. I went into my room but instantly knew that I wasn't going to be as luck as my younger sister. After ten minutes I decided to just read some of my comics I had brought home from the woods.
I made a mental note to remind Michonne to pick some more up on the next run she made, if she saw any. Enid thinks that they're a waste of time. I find them entertaining.
I was about to find out what happened in the fourth issue in the series I was reading, when I heard someone lightly walking along the stairs. Dad never wakes up this early and Michonne likes to sleep in as late as possible.
I grabbed my gun and threw the book onto my unmade bed. I slowly open my bedroom door and see a man sitting at the top of the steps holding the picture Aaron took of me and Judith. I walk over towards him and point my gun at his head.
"What the hell are you doing in my house."
"Relax kid, I'm just waiting on your mom and dad to get dressed." I let my head tilt to the side a little in confusion, not moving the gun an inch. Mom and Dad? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
My dads door opens and both him and Michonne walk out into the hallway. Note to self, dad's hooking up with Michonne now.
Ana's POV
_________
Rick came to my house early in the morning and explained the whole Jesus situation, and after two and a half minutes of arguing, we established that Jesus had in fact not risen from the dead. But he did just kick Daryl's ass, something that i want to rub in his face but at the same time I know I have to keep my mouth shut about.
I hurried to the council meeting that Rick had graciously let me be apart of. While I took my seat, I noticed the awkward silence between the normally talkative Michonne and Carl, what did I miss?
