Hey, take it easy, stud. Save it for the honeymoon.
You know what? We have to go anyway.
Oh, no, I have to get that fortune thingy.
No time. I've got my sweater on.
I devour a few pieces of popcorn as Jason and I watch Freaky Friday. I shift myself in my seat so I'm closer to him. He notices and intertwined his fingers in mine and chills ran down my spine and the flutters of butterfly wings tickled my stomach.
After the movie, we walk back outside still holding each other's hands. Brisk wind violently hits me as we walk through the parking lot. Jason and I start talking about the movie as we get in his car.
Jason sits down and I put my seatbelt on. I look over at Jason and see confusion on his face as he looks in my direction. The same expression fills my body before I notice he's looking right past me. I follow his gaze outside my window and see a boy and girl, both about my age.
“Do you know them?" I broke the silence. Jason nodded and I looked back at him. He was trying to hold back tears as he got out of the car.
“Jason?!" I exclaim, buy he runs up to the girl. They say a few things that I can't hear, but Jason hugs the girl and she hugs back. I can practically feel and hear my hear cracking to pieces as tears roll down my cheek.
Anger started to take me over and I violently opened the door and slammed it shut. I looked back at Jason and he's too busy hugging the girl to care for what I am doing. So I start walking home.
What went wrong? he was the first guy I liked! I think as I start to bawl.
It's been about a half hour now and I am only halfway home. I'm freezing in this ridiculous temperature, but I don't mind. Suddenly I hear my phone ring. I pull my phone out and see the number is unknown, but I answer it.
“Hello?"
“Hey, is this Lyndsey?"
“Who's asking?"
“I'm a friend of Jason's, Nathan. I was at the bowling alley with him. He says he's sorry but that was his ex in the parking lot. Do you need a ride? I can pick you up."
“Sure." I say and hang up after I tell him where to meet me.
I stand with my arms crossed and my hands tucked into my sleeves as I head toward the corner of the street when I see a car stop next to me. Assuming it was Nathan, I walk up to the car, but stop quickly. It wasn't Nathan. I slowly back away as the driver's door opens.
“Need a ride?" the man asked. He looked middle aged and his hair had bits of strands of grey hair. I shake my head no and I hear someone from the side of me.
“I've got her." and he grabbed my arm.
