The sun finds its way into the room; creeping in across the floor and along the walls. Grumbling unhappily, I snuggle in closer to my pillow; trying unsuccessfully to escape from the early morning light. Something stirs underneath me and I open my eyes just the slightest bit, letting in only the smallest slit of bright sunlight. I close my eyes again, blocking out the morning light, as Connor continues to shift.
“You know,” I say sleepily, my words muffled slightly by his chest which I seem to have been using as a pillow; “People are going to start wondering why you’re always sleeping in my bed and not your own. It’s not like your bed is all that much farther away so you don’t really have much of an excuse as to why you feel the need to conveniently always fall asleep in here.”
He laughs and I don’t even have to look at him in order to know that he’s grinning at me; I can just sense it, “I’ve told you before, your room is just better.” I look up at him and roll my eyes.
“That’s the best you could come up with? My room is ‘just better’.” I say, sarcastically using air quotes to mimic is lame excuse.
He just looks at me, and we’re silent for a few moments. “How about this,” He says, his expression serious, “If I wasn’t here who would protect my little Moose?” He asks, kissing me softly on the forehead.
My heart is pounding, beating rapidly with excitement at his words, and my stomach erupts into a flurry of butterflies at the feeling of his lips softly brushing against my skin. He called me his Moose, I can’t help but to smile, and snuggle in a bit closer to him.
“So, I have something special planned for you today,” He whispers quietly in my ear before nuzzling his cheek against mine.
“Oh yeah, and what’s that?” I ask him, feeling extremely curious.
He shakes his head and grins, “I can’t tell you.” He says and I push out my lower lip in a pout, which only seems to have the opposite effect; making him laugh instead of guilting him into telling me what the surprise is. “Sorry babe, pouting isn’t going to work. Now go get dresses and make sure you grab a swim suit.”
I look at him suspiciously, “Why do I need a swim suit?” I ask and he wags his finger while making a tsking noise at me.
“If I told you that would completely ruin the surprise; now quite asking questions, get your ass out of bed and go get ready!”
I glare at him, but I do as he says and drag myself out of bed, then I slowly start to make my way over to the closet. I stop about halfway between the bed and the closet and turn my head to look at him; making eye contact.
“How’s this for getting my ass out of bed,” I say as I shake my butt at him. I can hear his voice hitch, but he acts as if it hasn’t affected him at all, and he just laughs.
“Quit being so difficult and go get ready, Moose,” He says, still laughing, and I stick my tongue out at him and cross my eyes; feeling childish. This only seems to succeed in making him laugh even more and I roll my eyes as I walk over to the closet.
The door is still slightly ajar from the last time I used it, and I look down at what I’m wearing. These definitely aren’t the clothes I remember changing into last. I bit my lip and glance over at Connor without him noticing. He must have changed me into a pair of sweats and a tank top last night. My cheeks flare up with heat as I blush at the thought of him seeing me in just my bra and panties. Thank God I decided to match! I walk into the closet and hit the light switch which quickly illuminates the lights on the ceiling.
I shimmy out of my sweats, which are a dark blue and say Hollister down along the right leg in white lettering. I pull the black tank top off over my head and drop it carelessly on the ground. Walking over to the chest of drawers by the mirror, I pull open the second drawer; underneath the drawer where my undergarments usually are. Sure enough, there are various pairs of swim suits folded and tucked neatly into the drawer.
