My alarm went off and it was once again my first day of school. Summer was pretty fun here in New York and though I had my ups and downs with Ahm we were pretty tight now, not together, but tight. (We still fucking though, cause I was not about to give that up.)

I sighed and got up and went to my bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I rinsed out with some mouth wash that burned all of my mouth but I'm so used to it now, it just numbs everything. I walked out and I started to put my hair that I straightened in a ponytail, it looked so different. I grabbed my uncles watch and put it on, then I put on this dumbass uniform that I stored in the back of my closet.

I sighed looking at myself in the mirror and I put on some make-up to make me look just a little more mature. It is my first day of junior year. I nodded and then I grabbed my keys and backpack and walked out my room. I heard commotion downstairs and it was my brothers, who decided to move in with me instead of staying with my dad. I had no choice in the matter, but let's say I was happier being by myself.

"There she goes." Malcolm exclaimed and I smiled, "Yeah, yeah."

"Ready for a new year?" He asked me and I groaned annoyed, "Sure." I plainly said and he chuckled just a little. "Come here." Trey instructed and I walked over to him. He passed me some money and said, "Have a good day kiddo." I nodded and Malcolm psst me over to him. He passed me some more money and winked, "Enjoy your day." I grinned and nodded.

I walked out the house and I went to my car but someone was waiting for me. "Cecil!" I said out loud and I walked over to him and hugged him. "Hello there, I just wanted to tell you have a good day of school." I smiled, "You didn't have to come all the way over here for that." Cecil shrugged, "I've been there every first day of school you had since you started school." I nodded, "Wanna take me to school for old time's sake?" I asked and his eyes twinkled, "Do you want that?" I nodded and he beamed.

"Come on." I walked to the car and he opened the door for me. Then he walked around the other side and climbed into the driver's seat and just like old times he'd turn on the radio and we'd just listen and jam.

"You have practice tonight?" He asked and I nodded, "Yeah. I have to stay a little later than everyone to help clean up because that's what the captain's do." I told him and he grinned, "Not easy being a leader huh?" I shook my head, "It's not." I looked out the window. "But if your coach didn't think you could handle it, she wouldn't have chosen you for the position."

"Maybe she has a bad judge of character." I wondered aloud and Cecil laughed out loud. "I don't think so." I still wondered, "When's the first game?" He asked and I replied, "Next Friday." He nodded, "Want me to tell your father?" I thought about it. I haven't spoken to my dad in months, I wouldn't know what to say to him face-to-face.

I simply said, "No." Cecil nodded knowing not to ask any more questions.

We finally made it to school and Cecil let me out the car. "Well, have a good day." He said to me. I nodded and walked off waving to him. I walked into the school and I walked into the cafeteria.

"Yo! She lives!" Caz announced my arrival and he walked up to me first hugging me.

"Who said I wasn't living anymore?" I asked him, one eyebrow raised and he shook his head, "When I got back, I thought you'd you know, hit me up every hour of every day." I laughed at him.

"Caz, you were gone for the whole second half of the summer. Plus, I did hit you up when you got back." I reminded him and he twisted his mouth, "Not every hour though." I smacked my lips and hit him. He turned and looked at me sternly, it was kind of sexy, then he told me, "This year will be different. You will stop hitting me." I rolled my eyes and hit him again.
