"you're finally here!" youngmin expressed his excitement by pulling sunghwa into a hug. sunghwa returned his hug and laughs.

"im sorry i was late, i dont know who thought it was a good idea to take the public transport here."

"oh, i think i might've seen you just now!" young recalled his encounter a few hours ago. Seeing a group of teenagers wearing fancy dresses and high heels wasnt a rare sight but it wasnt common either. then again, him and his friends all wore brightly coloured suits, which made them stand out even more from the mundane crowd; not to mention his red hair as well.

"were you with saerom and jessica? i didnt know you knew them.. do you know minji then?"

sunghwa nods.

weird... i didnt know they knew each other..

before youngmin could say or ask anything, the sound of someone clearing their throat was amplified from the sound system.

"im here to make an announcement," everyone groans yet again.

"does she ever shut-up?"

"do you not like her?" sunghwa asks.

"i dont really care about her," youngmin explains, "its just that theres a rumour saying that i might be her 'next target' and-"

"sunghwa," spotlights start moving and are all on her.

"will you be my girlfriend?"

everyone gasped.

"hold up- what?"

sunghwa covered her face in embarrassment. everyone started clapping and chanting. it was to the point where youngmin's eardrums were ringing due to the chants. he looked around and sees his friend all gasping in shock. he was in shock too. everything was so overwhelming. feeling a bit giddy, he tried to make his way to his friends that were only a few feet away.

"are you okay?" he hears a familiar voice, probably daniel, yelling at him as he stumbles his way to them.

"im so-"

"do you think hes gonna wake up?"

"of course, he has to."

"what happened?"

"how would i know? he collasped just like that."

"we should bring hyung some water."

youngmin groaned at the noise. he started moving but as soon as he tried to get up, he could feel a sharp pain coming from his head.

"what the-"

"dont get up too quickly, just lay there." seongwoo says.

"WHY DID YOU FAINT?" without a second thought, seongwoo smacks the back of woojin's head.

"was it a dream?"

everyone shook their heads.

-

it was midnight. youngmin, daniel, seongwoo, kenta and woojin were all sitting at the diner nearby, eating a big meal. apparently, the catering at the dance wasnt enough to make them full. woojin decided it was best if they just left the venue  especially after his hyung woke up from a 'traumatic' experience, and go get supper.

it wasnt the best of nights, the boys had to run under the rain because someone insisted they just walked to the diner, claiming that it wasnt that far. ("i swear its not that far! its just around the corner," kenta says. there they go again, turning multiple more corners; its never ending.) what made things even more dreadful was seongwoo's constant complaints.

finding a seat wasnt that hard either, considering there werent many people around that area to begin with plus the fact that it was nearing to 1am by the time they arrived. all of them ordered their food and began talking, mostly about what had just happened.

"how did they even know each other? last time i checked, noona flipped when she found that hyung went to dance practice with minji," woojin sips on his cider, (hes always sipping on something) leaning back as he was ready to listen to his hyungs with whatever they had to say.

"from what i heard, minji confronted sunghwa the next day," daniel explained, claiming that he heard from the source itself; minji, when she was talking to her group of friends. "and from there, i guessed they became friends?"

"i dont think friends would be the right term.." kenta chuckled, shaking his head. he somewhat found the situation humorous, how youngmin had been crushing on someone who had no interest in his kind whatsoever.

"is that why our 'relationship' felt so platonic?" youngmin asks. all the boys did was nod their heads simultaneously. it was as if he was the only one clueless about all of this.

"im still sad though.. i feel like the odds are never in my favour."

"not even the evens are in your favour, hyung," woojin sips his cider once again, this time, with a bit of cockiness showing. everyone couldnt help but laugh at how brave their dongsaeng has become, with youngmin turning almost the same color as his hair, hand rubbing the back of his neck due to the amount of truth there is in woojin's statement.
