Mikey had been undergoing treatment for his cancer, and it was all going smoothly. He had been a bit nauseous at first, but he had found coping mechanisms.

He showed some side affects, but none too serious, thankfully. Mikey and Pete became an unofficial thing, and they were okay with not exactly knowing what they were. Everything seemed to be okay.

Frank had planned to go out on a surprise date of sorts today, to cheer Gerard up.

He had planned to begin the date by going for a walk together in a forest, taking food and some drinks, and end it by taking Gerard home and sitting on the couch, watching movies together. He had it all planned out.

Gerard woke up, his dream-like flashback still fresh in his mind.

He scratched his head, as he sat up slowly. When he turned to look at Frank, he noticed Frank was not there. Gerard got out of bed, and headed through the hallway.

He found Frank packing a backpack with food and drinks. "Oh, you're finally up!" Frank grinned as he zipped up the bag and left it sitting in the kitchen bench.

Gerard smiled in confusion, "What are you doing, Frank?" Frank grinned, "Go freshen up, I've got an interesting day planned for us."

Gerard liked the sound of it already. A mysterious date with the love of his life.

Gerard was obedient, and excitedly ran back to the bathroom and put on a fresh set of clothes, and tweaked his hygiene.

Soon enough he returned to the kitchen and Frank was standing there, smiling at Gerard. "You look good, Gee."

Gerard blushed as he headed over to Frank, "You too, Frankie." Gerard held Frank's hand as they walk out of the house with the bag Frank had been packing, over Frank's shoulder.

They didn't have to drive very far, to find a forest.

Gerard was excited. All the mystery that waited, got him in a bubbly mood. Frank parked the car on a dirt road.

He got out, swung the bag over his shoulders, let his boyfriend out, locked the car, grabbed Gerard's hand and started walking into the forest.

The trees were shelter from not only the sun, but a shelter from reality. Everything sort of melts away in the serenity of a forest, and Gerard loved it.

The air that drifted last the trees, gave you a feeling like none other, like you were alive, truly alive.

The leaves danced above the ground, letting the sun's light pass through the openings.

The forest felt almost enchanted. Seeing foxes was not uncommon in this forest, if you were lucky you might even catch sight of a deer.

This forest was alive.

Soon, the two of them reached a clearing, it was sheltered by trees, but had more light than the other parts. Frank sat down against a large tree, Gerard did the same.

"This is beautiful, Frank." Gerard couldn't stop admiring the beauty of the forest.

Frank chuckled as he unzipped the bag. Frank pulled out a bottle of beer, which caught Gerard's attention.

Gerard reached for it but Frank pulled it away from him. Gerard stretched his hands out towards it, almost reaching it, his head inches away from Frank's.

Frank held the beer away from Gerard teasingly. "Frankieee!" Frank laughed, "A kiss and I will surrender."

Gerard stopped reaching for the bottle and immediately pressed his lips passionately against Frank's.

He pulled away eventually, and looked at the beer. "Good boy, Gee." Frank finally lowered his hand and let Gerard take it.

"Gerard, don't drink too much, okay?" Gerard nodded, as he drank a mouthful and handed it to Frank. Frank stared at it for a moment, deciding whether he would drink it.

"C'mon, Frankie. Do it." Frank took a sip and then out it away, "I have to drive." Gerard nodded, "Good, Frankie."

Frank and Gerard stayed sitting against the tree for a while, they talked about life, they told jokes, they shared secrets, and they enjoyed each other's company. Gerard appreciated Frank a lot.

Even if Frank was dealing with hell, if Gerard was even slightly dismal, Frank would drop everything to help Gerard. And Gerard would do the same.

Frank helped Gerard forget about the pain, he was like a distraction, but he was so, so, so much more than that. He was everything to Gerard. He would never bare losing him.

"Gerard, could you tell me about the dream you had earlier?" Gerard's laughter went silent. He turned to Frank, "Uh yeah." Gerard's voice became shaky, "Gerard, it's okay. I'm here."

Frank put his hand on Gerard's shoulder, "It started with Mikey and I sitting on my bed, in our old home. We were happy,"

Gerard had a small smile on his face, "until our mom called me. She sounded angrier than usual... I went up there, before I could say anything she-"

Frank kissed Gerard's cheek as comfort, "she slapped me. I tried to talk to her but she did it again. I remember her screaming at me a lot, and I remember he saying; I won't have a gay son,"

Frank's facial expression was crossed between shock, grief, and anger.

"Mikey got between her and I, but our mom pushed him away violently... She grabbed my shoulders and pushed me towards the door. I tried to fight back but it was no use. The last thing I saw was Mikey's tear-covered face..."

Gerard felt tears run down his face. "Gerard, I had no idea. I'm so fucking sorry." Gerard shook his head,

"No no, it's okay. It's just- I never wanted to remember that memory..." Frank embraced Gerard tightly, "I know... I love you Gerard."

Gerard forced a small smile upon his lips, "I love you too."

"Frank. I don't know much about your life. What happened in your life before you found me?" Frank grinned,

"Sure thing. Um well I was raised as an only child. My dad was a really important part of my life. He raised me. He supported me. But he went missing, when I was 13."

"It took a long time for me to get past that. After my dad was gone, I had no real reason to stay at home. My mom hated me. She was rarely home. So I went out drinking, partying, smoking. I tried everything to forget, but I couldn't."

"When I was 14, I went out looking for my dad a lot, I hoped that one day I'd see him, but I never did. There was a kid my age, he never went to class, he helped me forget about what was happening."

"He was a man of the shadows, one minute he'd be there, and the next he'd be gone. I never really saw him all that much after I was 14. When I was 15 I started getting over it all, of course I still missed him, I still do, but I began to accept it."

"I had no friends for years, no one to talk to, no one to trust. Now I'm 17, and final found someone to trust. And I love you, Gerard." Gerard felt himself blush, as he slipped his hands into Frank's. The two of them were happy.
