It was the day of Mikey's funeral.

Gerard had been an emotional wreck lately.

He missed his brother.

More than he ever thought he could.

The funeral was a small, quiet ceremony, in a church.

Gerard attended the funeral, in a black suit shirt, black blazer and black suit pants.

He held a red rose during the service, until it was over.

Pete stayed back to say a few words to Mikey privately, he looked desperate, grieved, lost, he couldn't bear being here for too long.

"Mikey I'm sorry." Pete said firmly before leaving Mikey's coffin.

When Pete left, it was just Frank and Gerard.

Frank kissed Gerard on the cheek, "Go on." He whispered.

Gerard nodded and walked towards the coffin alone.

His knees were shaky and his heartbeat was weak.

He stood in front of the coffin, almost crying, knowing his brother's body was inside.

"Mikey... I uh brought you a rose." He said quietly.

Gerard smiled, letting a tear roll down his cheek, "I think you'd like it."

"I miss you, Mikey." Gerard pressed his hand against Mikey's coffin.

"I miss you a lot actually." Gerard chuckled, trying to disguise the pain.

It was silent for a moment.

"I love you." Gerard said, choking back his tears.

"Bye Mikey..." He whispered, placing the rose on Mikey's coffin, and lifting his hand away.

Gerard walked back to Frank, who was now standing near the door.

Frank kissed Gerard gently on the lips, "I think Mikey would've loved that." He said after pulling away.

Gerard nodded, "Yeah... Thanks for staying with me..." He mumbled.

Frank smiled, "I'd never leave you."

Gerard's eyes lit up a little, "Promise?"

Frank held Gerard's hand, "Promise."

That night, Gerard and Frank were sitting on Frank's couch, watching television.

Frank made many attempts at starting small talk, but Gerard didn't talk. Not once.

"Frank, I can't go on without without him."  Gerard broke the silence.

Frank turned to his boyfriend, "What?" He asked, a little stunned by Gerard actually talking.

"I can't go on like this, Frank." He hung his head low and fiddled with his hands.

"Gee... I know you can. We'll find some other way." Frank said, trying to comfort him.

Gerard turned his head to Frank, "Frank..."

"Gerard?"

"I miss him so much!" Gerard cried, lunging himself at Frank's arms.

"I know you do..." Frank whispered, embracing Gerard tightly.

It broke Frank's heart to see Gerard like this.

Every day got harder for Gerard.

Gerard became more desperate for Mikey's return.

But as you'd imagine, he never came back.

Frank hated the decision he was about to make.

It had been 4 days sine the funeral.

Frank needed to get groceries, he was almost completely out.

He couldn't take Gerard.

Gerard wouldn't be able to handle it.

He wasn't ready for the real world.

Not yet.

"Gerard I need to go out to get more food." Sighed Frank.

Gerard nodded, curled up in Frank's bed.

"I'll be back as soon as I can, Gee." Frank said, before grabbing his jacket.

Gerard had no energy to answer, so he just nodded again.

Frank smiled with pity, "I love you."

Gerard didn't even nod.

Frank knew that Gerard wanted to say it back, but he couldn't, his mentality wouldn't allow it.

Frank left, shutting the bedroom door.

Gerard stayed there, curled up under Frank's blankets.

Happiness...

Will it ever come?

Man... It feels so weird coming to the end of this story. (There's like 5 chapters left)
I remember she I first sat down and started writing this...
I had no idea it would get this far, and this popular.
