I sat still in my chair as the speakers boomed with the chairman's speech. The cap on my head itched but I didn't dare move to scratch it in fear I would get smacked by the tassel. Jack was sitting a few rows in front of me and I could see him cringing every time the speaker spoke; his hang over hadn't eased up too much since he was the one who drank most of the whiskey last night. Alex was sitting somewhere to the left of me in my row and Jaime was nearly directly behind me while Rian sat in front of me.

Sitting on the edge of my seat, I was getting hyped up for the initiation that was about to take place for both Jenna and Dave. Just as the chairmen stopped aside for the teacher to begin announcing the names for the diplomas, I heard Jenna's voice screech out.

"Long live the Trouble-Makers!" Jenna screeched, running through the middle of the court and shooting off silly strong. Dave was chasing right behind her, blaring horns until they disappeared outside of the room. The class stirred with laughter and Jack was hunched forward in his chair, clearly the noise wasn't so good for his head ache.

A bright smile stayed on my face as I resat back further into my chair, happy that - even though most of the crew was leaving - Mike still had Jenna and Dave to fall back on.

"Congratulations on making the group!" I said excitedly, moving over to Jenna and Dave and pulling them both into a hug. My silk rob nearly made me slip off the two of them.

"Congrats to us? More like to you guys! You made it through freaking high school," Jenna spoke back.

I leaned backwards into Alex, already knowing he had approached behind me. It was nice to know he was going to be there with me through the real world, but the idea of having to attend college and actually be in the real world was scary.

"Oh, please, you'll be graduating one year, too. It's nothing special," I said with a shrug.

"At least you don't have to stay here," Dave remarked, moving away from the four of us to catch up with Rian. Mike soon replaced him in the spot, though, and took Jenna's hand.

"Aw, look at all the lovely couples," Jack said with a sneer, appearing next to us in the big crowd. He had put sunglasses on now and he no longer had his cap on.

"Still wearing out the whiskey?" Mike asked.

"Don't even mention alcohol to me," Jack said, turning pale suddenly. "I never want to drink again."

"That's what you always say," Alex said with a huge grin. Jack punched his arm lightly and we all chuckled at that.

"What are you doing after graduation?" I asked, looking over at Jack.

"I'm not having this conversation," he declared, walking away from the group.

"It's a completely relevant question now!" I called after him with a huff.

"I don't think he's going to survive well after this," Mike remarked, looking down.

Alex sighed. "He'll do fine, we'll look out for him."

"He hasn't always done well with that," Jaime remarked, coming into the conversation.

Alex shook his head now, not wanting to deal with this anymore. "Who cares? We're graduated now, let's have fun."

"Heck yeah, man!" Jaime shouted before bouncing away to make his rounds of goodbyes to some of the teachers.

I turned in Alex's arms and he leaned forward - almost reading my mind - and pressed his lips in mine. The real world was crazy and, unfortunately, it was starting now. But I knew I would survive with Alex, together. I wasn't scared when I had him at my side.
