Pain. A sharp pain reminding me about my faults.
I grunted as I flashed down another glass of water and placed it on the sink. My hands found the counter and rested. I drew in a deep breath and my eyes glanced over at the painkillers laying beside the empty glass. They mocked with "your idiot" and "how could you let this happen" over and over again.
"Shut up!" I growled, my jaw clenching.
My hands tighten around the sink as I drew in four quick breaths. I glanced up the transparent glass. Drops were the only traces of the water there lingered in it a little time ago. It all combined at the bottom, creating a little puddle.
I shook my head before crawling my hand around it. I lifted it up in the air and raised it over my head before I threw it over the room. It hit the wall on the other side, splitting into thousands of pieces.
The glass was spread all over the floor, together with the endless pieces of paper my father had thrown around yesterday. The reason for his madness was unknown to me but was probably just because of his drunk state.
I sighed deeply, watching as the broom mocked me together with the painkillers. "Idiot," I mumbled as I strolled over to catch the broom and sweep the floor clean from broken glass.
I swept and swept and when I finally was proud of my work, I threw the glass out in the trash and clasped my hands together.
The gray refrigerator buzzed from the corner and slowly I made my way over to it, to close it fully. Before I closed it, I glanced inside. There was no eatable food whatsoever and a deep cry escaped my dry lips.
On the counter, money laid and shined as the only thing. I jumped over to them and tucked them down in my pocket, ready to get some food.
Soon I found myself standing outside, the door only half closed and the wind blowing my hair with its passion. Brown locks hung before my eyes and I fumbled with closing the door after me, making sure I wouldn't wake up my father.
The car was gone again today and the rusty gate was half open. I strolled down the pathway and out through the gate, keeping it open behind me since I wasn't in the mood for closing it. Or doing anything at all.
My bouncing headache didn't seem to stop and my heavy footsteps were only a drug to make everything worse. The sun had risen fully and shone down upon me, however, nothing warm came from it, because the wind carried a cold there lured the suns warmth away.
I often found myself thinking the wind was invisible, that we couldn't see or spot it, however, as I looked over the grass filled gardens, I accepted that I was fully wrong. It displayed as it turned grass into fierce seas and leaves into beautiful butterflies streaming down towards the ground.
To be honest, the wind wasn't the only thing lurking in my mind. He was too. No matter what I did his voice and perfect face would pop up and say some cheeky comment or just smile. You know, one of those real smiles there, even though he weren't present, made my knees weak. When I had told him I didn't hate him I really meant it and spoke my heart and then his answer just ruined it all. Who the hell answers that? He was a selfish idiot!
What do you do when you want to go back to be strangers with someone who have touched your soul?
I turned a corner and walked straight over the center of town and over to the grocery store. I stopped in front of it, blocking the door for the few people there were awake this hour.
I meet Anthony's mother here.
I wished I could pull myself together and really begin to live my life. To maybe get to know Anthony and his too sweet mother. Maybe I could even become friends with Tony. That could be great.
