I sat with my eyes closed, trying to focus, but the question kept coming back. What did my father lose twenty-six years ago? It was weird, not even Liam knew it.

Antonio and Anthony were talking together outside and Mr. and Mrs. Martinez was nowhere to be seen, however, Manuel, Fransisco, Luis, Mrs. and Mr. Green and Liam were sitting in the same room as me. It was silent, we all just sat and looked a1t each other.

"That was intense," Francisco said looking around. "However, I think we're going to win." When there came no answer, he kept talking. "Your mother seems kind of..."

"Intense?" Liam said as he opened his eyes and looked over at Francisco.

"Not quite the word I was looking for, but I'll take it." Francisco smiled and crossed his arms over his chest. "So Nina, when are you moving in with Anthony?"

"What?" I and Liam blurted in sync, leaning forward and opening our eyes wide.

"Yeah you know, after your father gets locked in and all that, you probably ain't wanna live with your mother and last time I checked your brother didn't have anywhere to stay." He smiled at me like he didn't even know how awkward that was for me. And especially in front of my brother.

"Sorry, Cisco, but I am not going to move in with your brother."

He frowned. "What? Why not? I know you like him."

"I do not!"

"You do."

"Do not!"

"Just admit it, Nina, we can all see how you two look at each other." He leaned back in his chair with a childish smirk on his face. Manuel and Luis both sighed in sync and turned their heads away.

I was about to answer when Liam opened his mouth. "I haven't seen anything."

"You are the big brother. You aren't supposed to see anything," Francisco explained in a how-dumb-can-on-person-be tone.

"And what's that suppose to mean, huh?" Liam folded his hand tightly over his firm chest and leaned back in his seat.

"I'm just saying that most overprotective big brothers don't always see everything because they believe that they do." Francisco shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't believe that and I don't believe that my sister would move in with someone who bearly know."

"Bearly know? I'll bet she knows more about Anthony than any of us," Francisco laughed as the door opened.

"What's so funny, Cisco?" Anthony asked and looked at us all.

"Nothi-"

"Just some gossip." Mrs. Green stood up. "How are does our situation look like?" The questions were directed towards Antonio.

"Good I'll think. We have most physical evidence, however, Charlotte is very good at talking her case. Nevertheless, I don't see that there is any chance that we will lose this case if they don't have some massive bomb they're going to throw in the middle of it all." Antonio sat down and sighed.

"That sounds promising," Mrs. Green said and briskly glanced back at her husband. "Uhm, what happens if  we win?"

"Nina's father is going to jail, however, Nina's mom would still be out. But since Nina is legally an adult, her mother will not have any custody over her."

"Okay, that's good. I just needed to be sure."

No more words were said, everybody just sat and kept their mouth shut, so their own thoughts could talk. Personally, I would rather listen to all Francisco's bad jokes and Mr. Green's long story than my own thoughts. They never brought anything good, only bad memories and worries about things there hadn't even happened yet. Like the future. Oh dear, the future.
