I corrected my uniform I had picked up this morning from my house. Mrs. Green needed some help, so I volunteered to help her, even though it were my day off. This morning had been perfect, with real breakfast and a happy conversation.

I brushed some hair off my shoulder and turned towards Mrs. Green. "I am so grateful for you helping me today," she said, smiling. Her smile shined like the stars in the sky, with no bright city lights to dim them. It was like the sun opened its eager light to shine about her, only brightening her perfectly aligned teeth.

I looked out over the Diner. By day this Dinner had that shiny look and the jazz poured out of the open doors along with the aroma of freshly baked lasagne. I took in a deep breath, sucking in the air that carries a hint of dampness and lacks the heavy smell of food.

"No problem. I love working here," I answered truthfully, blowing away a stray hair there were stuck in front of my eyes.

"You are the best," she said over her shoulder as she jumped into the kitchen where Andrew was cooking on full blast.

I shook my head and turned my back around, so I could fill up two glasses with water and hand them to a couple.

When I served it to them, they didn't even notice me, they were too caught up in looking each other in the eye and holding hands. It was kind of cute.

As I turned my back to the humans, the bell rang through the room and a soothing laughter followed. I hummed as I walked back behind the counter and turned my back to the new guest. They would call if they needed something.

I washed a couple of glasses in the small silver sink, as my foot tapped on the floor.

Until now, the day had been good. Mr. and Mrs. Green had been very polite and was already ready to help or talk. The diner had been calm and only a few guest had come to get a bite food.

Another servant served the new guest, as I was still doing some dishes.

I turned around to face the new guest. The two boys were instant smiles. Their energy spilled out just as much the drinks in their hand and every other noise was their high laughter. My eyes widened when my brain finally saw who it was.

Nathan and Samuel laughed over something I couldn't figure out. They hadn't seen me yet, but I didn't run for cover, I just stood there.

Samuel dotted Nathan in his stomach. "You are starting to get a little fat," he said, grinning.

Nathan slapped his hand away, grasping the desk. "No, I'm not."

Samuel shrugged and returned to his drink. "You're right. You are just a little poofy."

I held a smile back in me, as Nathan, slapped Samuel on the back of his head, only for Samuel to laugh harder. "It ain't funny."

"No, it is hilarious," Samuel laughed, slamming his fist down on the counter. Samuel drew his eyes up to meet mine. His eyes were the type of brown the resembled sweet chocolate. That chocolate you ate right for the box and stuffed your face with when you spend another Friday night alone. They shined with humor and playfulness and it gave me shivers, however, it still wrapped me in a warm embrace, all at the same time.

His full lips slightly parted as he recognized me. "You're that girl," he said, pointing a rough finger at me. I glanced over my shoulder, confused if he really meant me. Sadly, he did, because behind me only the wall stared back at me.

Nathan soon planted his eyes on me too, luckily, they weren't as alluring as Samuel's, just a plain hazel color with a hint light honey.

"Huh?" Was the only thing there escaped my dry lips as my eyes focused every where but them?
