Chapter 14- Fake friends & Phone calls
••••••
It is now one day after Alex and I went to the Karaoke Bar, it is Thursday to be exact which means my date it tomorrow and I am so excited.
Right now, it is lunch and I am heading to the cafeteria. Once I get there I head to the line to buy some lunch, after buy a poutine and go to look for a seat.
Looking around I can't see anywhere to sit but then I see the girls, I start to walk over to them but then I remember that they haven't talked to me in over 2 weeks. I decided to sit with them and maybe I can get some answers.
"Hey girls." I say shyly as I take a seat across from them. Rosie gives an awkward smile and Alicia just scowls.
"What do you want?" Alicia asks rudely.
"Why are you being so rude, what did I ever do to you? I thought we were best friends." I said feeling tears start to burn my eyes.
"Do you even know what we were put through because of you. We were bullied because we were friends with you. We were called names, pushed around, laughed at, and we were put through all of this because you couldn't keep yourself together, and couldn't just stay away from what wasn't yours." She said getting louder by each word.
"Do you think I wanted this to happen to you?" I ask tears falling down my cheeks. "We have been friends since grade 5 why would I want to hurt you?" My voice raising to match hers.
"If you cared none of this would have happened!" She yelled.
"No, I was made fun of and bullied because I was born with a disease. A disease you knew I had," Then I look at Rosie. "Both of you knew about it. But when I was being bullied and I was all alone where were you, you guys are supposed to be there for me when I need you but instead you left me like a piece of trash on a sidewalk. I am sorry that I am such a burden. I am sorry that I thought I had true friends to lean on." I take a minute to calm down. "But you know what I was wrong and I'm sorry, you won't have to deal with me anymore." I said putting on a fake smile, wiping my tears away, and walked away not sparing them a second glance.

"Hey are you okay? I heard about what happened in the cafeteria today." Alex says through the phone as I stare at my ceiling.
"Yeah, I mean of course I'm sad but now that I think about it if they were truly my friends they would have stuck by my side no matter what." I say and then sigh. "At least that's what I would do" I said.
"Good because I was kind of hoping you would figure that out, Princess." He said and I could almost feel his smile.
"Would you stick around? Would you be there even if it meant you might get hurt in the process?" I ask hoping that he will say yes.
"Yes," he said and I blew a breath of relief. "And I am so that I couldn't be there for you because no one deserves to be alone through something like that ever." I smile.
"Thank you, and it's okay really I understand why you weren't there."
"Can I tell you something, Princess?" Alex asks.
"Yeah you can tell me anything anytime." I said smiling.
"I'm really glad you bumped into that day, and I am happy that I can now be here for you and help you make new friends." He said.
"I'm happy I bumped into you that day, even if you were a little rude." I say as I giggle.
"Yeah, sorry about that Leo pissed me off that day." He says laughing.
As I continue to look at the ceiling I put my phone on speaker before yawning. "Alex?" I say as I turn to lay on my side.
"Yes, Princess?" He asks softly.
"Can you stay on the phone with me?" I ask as I make sure that my Phone is on the charger.
"Yes." He said and I smiled.
"Thank you."
"No Thank You Princess." I hear as I start to drift to sleep. "Thank you for showing me that it is possible to change." And that is the last thing I hear before I fall asleep.

The next morning I didn't wake up to annoying alarm clocks or my loud mouth brother, but to soft snores coming through my phone.
He stayed just like he said he would.
I stayed there for a little just smiling and then I grabbed my iPod so I could record them, because no one ever believes they snore.
After I got a good minute of that I waited for him to wake up but he never did, I look at the time and see its 7:45 and school starts at 9:00 so i decide to wake him up.
So I go on my iPod and click on one of the alarms, the loudest one to be exact. I could always just talk but what would be the fun in that.
Once the alarm goes of I here Alex start to move.
"Oh come on, just five more hours and I'll be good." I here him groan. I hear shuffling through the phone so I can only guess he is looking for the source of the alarm.
I stop the alarm and smirk even though he can't see me. "Rise and shine, babe we got a great day ahead of us." I say with a laugh.
"Oh, you are so lucky that you are on the other side of the phone right now princess or I might have just tickled you to death." He said, and I could almost see him grinning.
"Feisty aren't we?" I say before hanging up.
This is going to be a good day.
