Trini wasn't in bed when I woke up. She wasn't in her room at all. A sigh leaves my mouth and I sit up. Last night, falling asleep holding Trini, though not the first time I've done it, it felt different. I want that feeling every night.

"I know someone is here, Trini!"

Shit, it's crazy mom. I quickly grab the red sweatshirt and put it on. I grab the textbook on the nightstand then head out the window.

"You just want an excuse to go in my room!"

I drop down and dust myself off. Dear lord, that woman has control issues. I walk towards the font door and ring the doorbell. The yelling stops and I hear someone come to the door. It opens to reveal Trini's father, "Hello, Y/n! What brings you here?"

I smile at him, "Well, Trini and I were supposed to study today. Is she up yet? Or am I here too early?"

"She's up. Come on in," He let's me in then closes the door, "Trini! Y/n's here!"

"Y/n," I hear two boys yell, then run towards me.

"What's up, little rangers," I always call them that, due to their obsession with the rangers.

"Y/n, show us how to do a backflip like you did last week."

"Oh, no, I'm sure your mom wouldn't want to deal with one of you getting a broken arm."

"She is right, boys. Now leave the poor girl alone and play somewhere else. Hi, Y/n."

"Hey, Mrs. Kwan. Trini upstairs?"

"Yes, but she's in a mood. I'm not sure if she'll be in a studying mood."

I shrug, "Well, it'll be too bad. Because we gotta pass."

She just wishes me luck and let's me go. Once I make it up the stairs, a little slower than usual due to having to jump out a window, I knock on the yellow ranger's door.

"Mom, I already told you, leave me alone!"

I fake a insulted gasp, "How rude!"

Footsteps hit the floor and the door opens, "Y/n!"

I smile, "Am I too early for our study date?"

She looks confused, then sees her book in my hand and catches on, "No. Let's just get it over with."

I step in and she closes the door as I lay on the bed, "You owe me."

She laughs and lays next to me, "I don't owe you shit."

I feel wetness on my abdomen, "Hey Trin?"

"Hmm?"

"What did you guys tell my mom?"

"You've been helping Zack with his mom."

"Oh, ok. Can I ask you something else?"

"Of course."

"Could you help me redress my wound?"

She agrees and grabs the gauze and medical tape from her drawer as I sit up at the edge of the bed. I wait as she searches for the scissors, which are actually right in front of her face. Watching her search hard for it, is actually quite amusing. Finally, I clear my throat and she looks at me pointing to them and proceeds to mentally facepalm herself. She sets the supplies next to e one the bed and reaches for the hem of my shirt. Her eyes find mine, as if asking if it was ok. I nod and she peals away the layer. I notice her swallow hard as she sets the shirt down. Then she shakes her head and kneels between my leg, going to work on taking off the old dressing. The morning, newly raised sun pouring in the window, hugging her in the best way. She was bare faced and messy haired, but the raw beauty had me speechless. Words escaped my mouth before I realized I spoke them.

"The morning looks good on you."

She freezes for a split second, and watch as a bashful smile crawls on her face and a blush to her cheeks.

"I- I uh. Sorry, that was out of nowhere," I laugh nervously.

She tapes the last bit, then throws away the old dressings without moving from her position. She reaches up and sets her hand to the same spot it took last night, "Had to make sure that really happened and that I'm not dreaming."

It was my turn to blush. I stand up, pulling her up with me. Her arms bent, hands resting on my upper chest and collarbones. My arms, wrapped around her, holding her close, "You most definitely aren't dreaming."

"If I am, I don't want to wake up," she says and I can feel her breath on my neck, causing me to shiver.

"Me neither."

"Hey, Y/n," She leans back to look at me, "What if we don't study? Do something else instead."

"What did you have in mind, princesa?"

She reached into the pocket of my jeans and pulled out the letter, "What if we see if we can make any sense of this? I don't want you to feel like you have to, I just know that you want to know about who th-"

She stops when I kiss her cheek, "I think that that's a good idea. You, just have to make me a promise."

"Anything."

"Stay by my side through out the whole process. I'm not brave enough to do this alone."

She shakes her head, "You're the bravest person I know. You literally allowed yourself to be impaled in order to save a friend. I'd say that's pretty fucking brave. But, yes, I will. I promise."

I nod and we sit on the bed and start to read the pages. Only after a paragraph I start to second guess do this, but Trini reassures me and holds my hand, gently strong the top with her thumb. For the rest, I was fine, at least until I read what the end held.

"Love,

Samuel and Beverly Scott

P.S.- If you are curious, we decided to name your brother, Jason. I hope one day the two of you will meet. But if that isn't in the cards, please know, we love you oh so much."

I look to Trini to see her expression matched mine as she looked from the page to me. I shake my head and look back to the page, "Jason is... he's.."

"Your brother."
