Ambush

"You're gonna have to do better than that, Kim!"

"Just you wait, Y/L/N I'll get you when you least expect it!"

I laugh and head down a hallway. Our school holds these activities right before winter break. And all of us rangers all ended up signing for the same one, paintball. Billy, Kim, Trini, and Zack are all on the same team. Jason, Tommy, and I are on a separate team.  3 on 4, uneven, but the other guy got sick. So, its just us. And currently, we're getting nowhere. Lots of near hits, but so far no one has gotten hit.

And of course, once I say that, I hear Jason and Zack call themselves out. Soon after, I hear Billy say he's out.  Poor, Billy. I was rooting for him to win it all. He's my favorite. Well.. besides my girlfriend. I crouch in some higher grass, behind a tree. I see Tommy trying to sneak around without being suspected. But from hiding spots behind him, the two girls jump and yell 'Ambush', whilst burying Tommy in a blanket of paintballs.  Bad for Tommy, good for me, since the girls left themselves in the open. Within seconds, I've hit them both. They both groan and look around for me. My laughing gives me away.

"How did you even hit us from there," Kim asks.

"It's my own gun. I have the advantage of knowing it better than you know those guns. And I'm just better than you."

We all walk out together. When I get closer to Trini,  replay the moment when I got both girls, and smile.

"Why are you smiling," Trini asks while giving me a look.

I shrug, "Just replaying the look on your face when I shot you."

That earned me a shove, "Careful, Y/l/n, you might end up single again."

I instantly stop laughing and apologize. Which only causes her to laugh and walk ahead of me to catch up with Kim. An arm wraps around my shoulders, "I know I don't know her as much as the others, but I know she hasn't really had it easy. It's really nice to see her smile and open up to you."

"Who you referring to, green bean? Both girls have had it hard. And, let's be honest, I'm close with both and make them both smile."

"Our little yellow, Y/n."

"Yeah, Trin is pretty great. Both girls are."

"Don't act like you don't have a favorite, Y/n. I see how you look at her. You should tell her how you feel. She looks at you the same way. And you two would be cute together."

I look up to see yellow smile at me then look away, "Damn right we would. But I don't have to tell her how I feel. I don't need to change my relationship status."

"Oh come on. You deserve happy too."

I shake my head and laugh. No one really knows that yellow and white are officially together. We just haven't announced it. We wanted everyone together and tell them as a group. We all board the school van, Mr. Lenki driving us back to the school. Trini, Kim, and Jason are in the very back seats, Tommy, Zack, and Billy, in the next row, with me to sit in the row behind the front seats.

"Y'all are rude. Leaving me to be by myself. I see how it is," With that, I just lay across the seats, "Works for me."

My phone vibrates and I pull it up to see a text from Trini, asking if I was comfortable. I just laugh to myself and send a quick yes. Once we get to the school, I say goodbye to everyone and walk towards home. But after a few minutes, I change course and  head to the quarry. I don't know why, but I just felt like going to train a bit. I walk up to the cliff thinking about how crazy it is that there's a space ship down there. And how crazy this whole power ranger thing is. But my thoughts are cut short by someone yelling.

"AMBUSH!"

I turn, just as Kim tackles me, pulling us into the canyon. We hit the water then swim to the bottom. And she just starts laughing. And I start to join in on the laughter, "What the hell, kim? And Zack calls Trini crazy."

"She has a habit of doing that," I turn and see Trini trying to hold back a laugh.

"Wait, has she done that before?"

Kim smirks and Trini nods, "Oh yes. She has. One of our first moments together. Quite the first impression, right Kimberly?"

"This was different. I had to make up for paintball," She turns to me, "I told you that I'd get you when you least expect it."
