Going Good

It's been a few months since Andrew and Heather started dating. It was all going good, almost perfect. If that word existed to them. They had a relationship no one understood. He'd make jokes that others thought were rude but she knew how her man was and would just shove him and say "you're dumb!"

They'd walk down the halls one minute holding hands the next Andrew would flex him arms and abs while Heather would continuously hit him over and over again.

He'd walk into the locker room with bruises spread around his body. The guys always gave him a hard time about it. "You're girl can kick your ass!" "It's sad that you let her hit you." "When did she take your balls?" His response was always the same "she's my girl, she wants to mess around like that then I'll let her. Plus it's cute how she thinks that it hurts me."

They'd skip advisory to roam around the halls together. They messed around and told each other all their secrets as if they were best friends. They teased and protected one another like siblings. They argued like a married couple and fucked like friends with benefits. Andrew was finally happy.

He'd occasionally skipped football practice to support her at her practice for cheer. He'd sit and watch as she tumbled. If she fell or got scared with her stunts he'd calm her down and motivate her. "You can do it babe! You're the best cheerleader here! Come on, show off like you know how!" He'd kiss her and she'd kill it on the mats.

After school they'd either walk to his house or just roam around the city. Pictures, cute and dorky filled their phone's photo albums.

They were always so honest with each other. They'd tell each other what they didn't like about each other and they'd work to fix it. He once told her he didn't like her attitude around certain people and now it isn't a problem. One day they were laying together and she told him "you're hot and all with your hair like this but I think you'd look even hotter if you cut it" he just laughed and changed the subject.

Football was also going great for Andrew. He had no problems with any of the team mates. John still gave him looks but Andrew always brushed it off. He wasn't trying to get kicked off the team, football's his life. It was his release. The practices were more intense than he remembered. First week of practice he was throwing up and struggling to breathe. Now he's quit all drugs. Last time he drank any kind of alcohol was that night at the abandoned house.

Another reason he quit was for Heather. After she had told him he ended up quitting with her to support her.

Him and Josh became friends after he apologized for breaking his nose. Josh wasn't as mad as Andrew thought he would be.

"I understand bro.. I deserved it" Josh turned his head to avoid eye contact.

"You're not mad?"

"Why should I be?"

"I kinda broke your nose dude"

"Yeah well it healed" he continued putting his head down.

"You know why I did it right?"

"Yeah man, Lexi.. I'm sorry. I know she was your world"

Andrew patted his back "it's cool, I'm over it as long as you are too"

"Yeah dude"

"So we cool?"

"Course"

"Come by later?"

"Dinner?"

"Yeah taco night"

"I'll be there!" They both walked in separate directions.

It's as if Andrew's old life was back. Star football player once again. He had his boys back. Him and Josh were close again. Girls attacked him with compliments and were all over him. He didn't party, do drugs, or drink. He talked to his mom more, still avoiding conversation with her boyfriend. The only two things that were different was Lexi was still gone and now he has a girlfriend that any guy would kill for.
