Andrew walked into the front door of his house and went upstairs to his room. He turned his music on and laid on his bed, he closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.
"Andrew Elijah Lopez it's 10:00 where the fuck have you been?" His mom interrupted his sleep.
"Out, doing shit" he answered with a raspy sleepy voice looking at his alarm clock, rubbing his eyes in disbelief.
"Clean your room, it's a fucking mess"
He sat up and looked around his room. It was practically spotless except for an outfit, a pair of shoes, and his backpack thrown on the floor.
"Fuck you" he mumbled and tossed the covers over his head.
*Knock, Knock*
"It's clean mom!" He groaned.
"Brother.." A little soft voice came from the other said of the door.
"Yes Katy?" Andrew's tone completely changed.
"Can I come in?"
"Of course monkey" he smiled a little.
His seven year old sister open the door and ran to him, jumping into his open arms. He squeezed her and began to tickle her "Tickle time!" He yelled.
"No!!!!" she screamed while laughing "I can't breath brother!" she yelled out.
She looked somewhat like him. Skinny, bright smile, blue eyes, and long eyelashes. The only difference was her hair was golden brown while his was pure black.
"How's my princess doing?" He said through his big smile.
"Good! I have another loose tooth! See!" She opened her mouth "Iths rit der" she tried saying with her mouth still open and her finger pointing at the loose tooth.
"Woah another one! The tooth fairy must spoil you with all the teeth you lose" he joked.
Something about being with his little sister brightened up his mood. His attitude and anger completely disappeared. His smile shined as bright as it did when he was with Lexi.
"Brother?" she got up and started looking around his room.
"Yes nosey Nancy?" he chuckled.
"Why are you always so sad or mad now?"
He looked down "what do you mean?"
"You used to be so happy when Lexi was here and ever since she moved you're so sad and mean.."
"Sometimes losing your bestfriend can have some damage on you"
"But she can always come to visit right?"
A tear left his eye "yeah, of course. She's just been too busy."
"Katy!" They both heard Lucas' voice coming from the hallway.
Andrew's door opened and Lucas peeked his head in "time for dinner guys, you too Andrew."
"Okay!" Katy smiled, she grabbed Andrew's hand which was two times the size of her own and led him out the door and to the kitchen.
To his surprise they actually had a good family dinner. Andrew lost his attitude just for Katy because he knew him yelling at their mom and Lucas scared her.
"How's school Andrew?" Lucas asked.
"It's better than last year"
"Are you and Josh still tight?"
It got quite.
"He went into a different group"
"I'm sorry son"
"Ain't like it matters now"
The silence filled the room once more.
"Well this was nice, Katy can you help me with the dishes?" Their mom broke the awkward silence.
"Okay mom" she took hers and Andrew's plate to the sink.
"Andrew can I sleep with you tonight?" Katy asked before he walked up stairs.
"Of course brat! Just come in when you're done" he softly smiled and continued upstairs.
After about ten minutes Katy walked into Andrew's room with her teddy bear in her arms.
"Climb up!" he said.
She climbed into his bed, placed her
head on his chest, pulled her knees up to her chest and started dozing off.
"Sweet dreams my little princess"
"Good night loser" she said in a cute, soft, sleepy voice. He smiled and fell asleep.
