"Honey, you are starting to look a bit bigger. Why don't you lay off the carbs." She stated in a matter of fact tone as she touched up on her makeup. She smiled.
"I'm trying mom, I really am." Rosy grabbed her backpack. "Did you pack my lunch?"
"Yes dear, it's on the counter if you didn't notice." She put on her mascara. Looking to see that Rosy was in the kitchen, she muttered under her breath. "Idiot. Guess she fits the category for dumb cheerleader."
Rosy bit back a tear. Her mom was still pretty loud. She looked in the lunch bag. Inside was just a red apple and some laxatives. Rosy went into her room which was right down the hallway. She looked in the tall mirror and lifted up her crop top. She thought she had gained some weight. Next to the mirror was a scale that her mom had placed there. She stepped up on it, after taking her shoes off real quick. The scale read, 89 lbs. That was one pound heavier than last week. She put her shoes on with a sigh and left her apartment. She stood, waiting in the parking lot for Kacy. Kacy was a fellow cheerleader and friend. It was getting colder. She should have worn something warmer but her mom told her that she'd be out of town for a week and that she had the house to herself. Rosy was hoping that she could bring Jackson home tonight. He was the quarterback of the football team and he wanted her. Rosy shivered as she thought of Jackson. She did like him of course, but she needed some relief. The only guy she really liked was Justin. She didn't understand why he would choose the mute girl over herself. She wanted to make him jealous so Jackson would be her plan. Kacy pulled up in her white convertible five minutes later.
"Hey babe," She smacked her gum loudly. "sorry I'm late. I was getting it on with Cooper late last night and didn't even wake up to my f*cking alarm." She said in a high pitched voice.
"No worries babe," The fierce redhead said. She hopped in the closed top convertible.
"Damn, you look hot." Kacy said smugly.
"Thanks, I'm getting it on with Jackson tonight after the football game today." Rosy smirked. It had been three days since she had called Justin out. She hadn't talked to him since. Both him and I were still out of school until next week so Rosy just sat with her cohorts at lunch without Justin.
They arrived at school five minutes before it started. Rosy got judgmental looks from teachers about what she was wearing while all the guys hollered at her. Her mom told her that all the judgmental people were just jealous people. She stopped by Jackson's locker where he stood with a bunch of the other guys on the football team, Greg and Dave included. She slapped his butt gently. He turned around and squeezed her butt as she grabbed his neck.
"Can we get some privacy please?" She pouted. The rest of the football players surrounding them snickered and left.
"What did you need baby?" He smiled. It wasn't as cute as Justin's smile, but it would do.
"My mom's out of town tonight, wanna come over after the game?" She batted her eyelashes and pressed against his body.
"Sure baby." He bent down and kissed her lips. They stood there even past the bell.
"Hey! No PDA in the hallways!! Get to class you two." Mr. Banes shouted. They parted ways and walked to their first period classes. Rosy walked into her Advanced Calculus class, late.
"Sorry, Mrs. Harding. I was in the bathroom." She lied. Of course, Mrs. Harding let it slide. Every teacher in the entire school loved her. She was a teacher's pet. They would only get cross about the PDA rule with her.
"Oh that's alright Rosy, just get in your chair." She kindly said. Rosie smiled back and sat in her chair.
Ben turned to look at the empty seat next to him. He had been worried sick. And now that he knew the truth, he was relieved. He was also supposed to be suspended for the next week, but they said that since he only took one class at the school anyway, they would let it slide. Ben looked over at Rosy. He was actually happy that she said her truth after school yesterday. He thought that if she could drive a wedge between Justin and me, he would get me back as his number one friend. The hour passed by making every kid in there exhausted to the bone. And it was only the first period. The day passed by like every other regular day for Rosy. After the final bell rang, she kissed Jackson goodbye and went home with Kacy. The football game was an away game so Jackson would be awhile.
She passed the time by studying. Surprisingly so, Rosy wasn't an idiot. She was in almost every advanced AP class. This included Advanced Calculus, AP government, AP Lit., and AP Chemistry. Her mom didn't even know that she was taking all of the tough courses. But then again, her mom never cared about her in the first place. But her approval and opinion still mattered deeply for Rosy. She threw away the half eaten apple in the trash and cleaned her lunch bag. She was hungry, but that didn't matter. She was one pound over this week and wanted to get her weight back down to 88 lbs. Rosy was also tall for her age and about twelve pounds underweight. But it didn't matter if she looked pretty. Right? She put on her black lacy lingerie and black stilettos. She wanted to impress Jackson enough for him to talk about it. Eventually it would get to Justin who would possibly be jealous. It was hours until he showed up.
"Damn baby, you look gorgeous." He took off his shirt. "Is it getting hot in here or is just me?" A corny one liner. That reminded her of Justin and his one liners.
"Thanks, why don't we go into the bedroom?" Rosy said seductively. She lead him in and they went at it for hours. It was a Friday and Rosy didn't care. She only thought about Justin, however. His brilliant blue eyes and swept back blonde hair. But in front of her, was just another football player.
