The Choice

Chapter 4: Secret Target

The sun was shining so bright you wouldn't expect any unpleasant turn of events. It was another morning in the household of the Sterling and everyone was still asleep when all of a sudden a suspicious shadow roams around the room of the sisters.

The shadow belonged to Callen. He had business again with the sisters, but not with the both of them.

"Caitlyn, wake up. Come on, I have an important task for you." Callen whispered to the ear of Caitlyn so as not to wake Kathleen up.

Caitlyn slowly opened her eyes, she was surpirsed to see Callen in their room, even more that he was assigning a task to Caitlyn who was always the one left in the house whenever they are on the job.

"Callen? What are you talking about? What mission? Aren't you supposed to be talking to my sister about this, since you know, she's just like the BEST assassin around." she emphasized on the word 'best' since she knows that she was telling the truth.

 "This isn't just any mission, only you can do this. The organization has found a new threat to us." Callen expalined.

"All the more reason you should assign Kath." she answered back.

"I was hoping you would understand. I thought you wanted to prove yourself to Kathleen that you are a grown up woman who can take care of herself. From the moment you told me those things, I have already been searching for a target that suits you." Callen said while smiling evilly.

"But, I'm not really that skilled plus I've only been with computers-" she stopped. She realized that this was the perfect oppurtunity to prove herself. She held her chin and looked down and finally made up her mind "Alright, brief me."

Caitlyn got out of bed slowly so that she won't wake her sister up. Both of them hurriedly went downstairs and Callen started the briefing.

"We'll code this target as RED. It's not that dangerous but being more careful is needed." Callen clarified.

"Of course. Even though they're the ones who needs to be careful." Caitlyn answered back.

"Your target, name is Jake Wilson. A high-ranking and skilled police officer soon to be promoted if he succeeds on the case he's holding, the 'Killer Angel' case." Callen explained in details.

"Killer Angel? That's what they call you guys? That's cute." Caitlyn butted in.

"Please stop interrupting, we will never finish in time." Callen sighed.

"Sorry, I'm just excited to get my very first assingment. It's just-" she stopped because Callen was already looking at her. "Sorry, please continue."

"As I said, he's very skilled and has never failed a case before. He never handled any cold cases. If he does he solves it right away.  He's a big threat to the organization since he might find us out sooner that you think. You're mission, threaten and kill." Callen finished.

"Is that it? What method should I use to kill him?" Cait asked.

"It's your choice. You can base it on your skills." Callen answered.

There was silence afterwards, both looking at each other's eye.

"Alright, I'll do it. When do I start?" Caitlyn questioned.

"You're really different from your sister." Callen sighed. "You should make a plan of attack first. After that you are free to do as you please."

"Then I'll do that. Thanks! Maybe we could tell my sister abou-" Caitlyn stopped while looking at the person behind her.

"Tell me about what? What are you doing down here Cait?" Kathleen appeared before them Callen signaled Caitlyn not tell tell her anthing. Kath crossed her arms telling them to spill their secret.
