"Where to now then," Ash asks looking around.
"Well this is your hometown, you can choose where to go next." Ash scratches his head in thought.
"Ehh I'm not sure. I feel very indecisive right now."
Misty mentally facepalms as she sighs with hands on her hips.
"Though it's probably cause I'm hungry," Ash announces looking up as if thinking. "Can't really think on an empty stomach." He walked towards a stand selling candy apples. "Want some Misty?" Misty raises an eyebrow. "How are sweets going to help you think better. It just makes you hyperactive. Plus." She put her hands in her pockets. "I don't have any money on me." He turned back at me and smiles. "Don't worry about the money. I'll pay for it." Her mouth went slightly agape. "You're willing to spend your money on me? " "It's no big deal really. So do you want some?" Slightly blushing, she turns away pouting. "Sure since you insisted."
"Here are your candy apples," said the lady at the stand as she gave the sweets to Ash. "One for each of you lovebirds." Ash froze as a blush slowly appeared on his face. Misty on the other hand was frantically gawking and twitching her eye as the blush became redder. Ash cleared his throat as Misty let out a quiet cough. "Uhm. We're not lovebirds mam." "Yea. Just childhood friends." "Oh? My bad then. The way you were acting it seemed you guys were lovebirds. Or even a couple. Anyways, have a nice day you two." The two friends let out a soft chuckle as they waved at the lady and walked off.
"Well that was awkward don't ya think?"
"It really was. Can't believe she thought I was dating the likes of you."
"Hey! When you put it that way you make it seem like I'm a bad guy. I don't think I'd be a bad boyfriend if I do say so myself."
"It's not like I said you were." He paused as she sweatdropped realizing what she had said.
"Oh." There was a great silence in the air.
Misty bounced up from her thought and stood in front of Ash. "I know a place we can go to. Just follow me." And with that she was off. "Okay?" That was very random Ash thinks to himself as he walked on after her taking a bite out of his candy apple. "So where we going to Mist," Ash asked as he and Misty walked on a route into the forest. Misty answered, "It's a surprise. I'm sure you'll recognize it once we get there." She took a bite out her apple and started running. Seeing this, Ash started running after her then right next to her. "Why are we running all of a sudden!" "Just to speed up the walk!" With that being said she speeds up again and Ash speeds up after her being precautious about his treat. They continued running at that direction and speed till they reached a certain open area. Abruptly, Misty stopped with Ash bumping right into her.
"My bad Misty." He paused staring at the view in front of him then started looking around. "This place seems very familiar." Misty smiles. "I knew your memory wouldn't forget it. This was where I first met you. Or more like the time I fished you out the water and you stole my bike." She let out at awkward laugh as Ash slightly flushed a light pink. "I remember it. At least I was able to pay you back your bike." "At least," she answered her voice wavering a bit. That brought back memories of how much she missed Ash over the years after he left, continuing his dreams of being a Pokémon master. If I didn't have a gym to run, I'd probably travel with him, she thinks to herself.
"You good Misty? You're getting quiet all of a sudden" She shook her head from thinking then nodded."
"I'm fine don't worry." She walked over to water, sat down, and started taking off her shoes with the free hand she had.
"Uh Misty what are you doing," Ash questioned her. She set her shoes aside and put her feet in the water.
"This. It feels relaxing you should try it." "If you say so." Ash took her words and started taking off his shoes with his free hand and sat down next to Misty pulling up his jeans before putting his feet into the water. "Wow. This really does feel nice," Ash comments as he takes a bite on his candy apple. Misty only nodded in return already eating hers. They ate their sweets in the silence of the forest and winds.
The winds pass and the memories flash in their heads. Some were good, others were annoying, but it led to an awesome friendship. One group of memories stuck in Misty's head for a while. All the times Ash had to leave to go to a new region. The first time was the saddest. He was able to return the bike he damaged from the beginning. Misty knew she forgot about he bike for a while but once seeing it, she at realized there wasn't much a reason at the moment for be following him since she claimed it was for the stolen bike she was there. Are you sure you'll be OK without me, Ash?
She remembers those exact words on their departure form each other. She takes a glance at Ash eating away the apple. I guess he was okay without me, Misty thinks to herself. What is this sudden feeling in my heart like some kind of heart break? Am I really in love with Ash? Of all people? This shouldn't be happening. In the end, he's just going to leave again to continue on his journey.
"Hey Ash." Ash turned to Misty when she said her name.
"Yes Misty? You okay?"
"Uh yeah. I was wondering. Will you be leaving again and when?" Ash paused and look forward.
"Well yea. Of course. There are regions left for me to explore, battle and catch Pokémon. You understand that, right?"
