spoiling the surprise

It has been two days since i found out that i was pregnant, i haven’t had the courage to tell koba, nor tell my parents yet. The shock was still running through my mind, my hand absently touching my stomach, as i laid awake next to koba.

‘ should i tell him or go to mom first?’ i thought looking over at my mate.

The sudden touch of a hand moves to my waist, pulling me into koba’s strong chest, as he slept still. A smile reached my lips, nuzzling into him, as sleep took over me.

The next morning, i woke up a bit early, mainly because of morning sickness. While koba was attempting to wake up, i got dressed for the day, and ate breakfast with cornelia and aria.

‘ will you be going to the human city today?’ aria asks me.

“ yeah i thought me and koba could visit my family, we plan to bring haze and milo also,” i smile at her.

‘ i hope you enjoy your trip,’ she smiles back at me.

Koba waited for me, haze and milo at the entrance of the colony as we walked to the stables, gathering a horse for the journey to the human colony. It didn’t take us long to get there, we tied the horse near a patch of grass so he could eat, as we walked inside. Milo was on my back, looking around the colony curiously, as we headed to my parents home. Haze was walking next to his father, as we stopped, and i knocked on the door.

“ beth!” shouts alexander as he opens the door tackling me in a hug.

Milo squeaks in discomfort and alexander let go, nervously smiling at his nephew, “ sorry milo.”

Dad shows up behind alex, “ beth welcome back,” he grins at me.

Dad let us in, as haze gave him a male embrace, and milo slowly climbs onto his back.

“ hello to you guys also,” he laughs smiling at his grandsons.

“ where’s mom?” i ask curiously.

“ she’s at work, but she’ll be home soon,” he assures and i nod to him.

Dad me and alex occupied ourselves with conversation, as we waited for mom. Milo was on top of alex’s head, and i couldn’t stop laughing at him, as he messed with his uncles hair.

“ i’m home!” calls mom as we hear the door close.

“ el looks who’s here,” dad says in a cheerful voice.

As mom came into the living room, i could see the small tears run down her cheeks, as she was smiling at me. I sit up from where i am sitting on from the couch, and mom nearly tackles me in a hug, as she holds back her sob when i hug back.

“ hey mom,” is all i say when we hugged.

“ welcome back,” she sniffs as she looks at me.

Milo immediately raises his arms, motioning to grab at mom, and she smiles scooping him in her arms. Haze hugged her around her waist, making me and mom laugh, as she hugs her grandchildren.

“ mom can i ask a favor,” i asked and we walked into the kitchen.

“ what’s wrong?” she asks turning to me.

Gulping i dig into my go bag, and slowly took out the pregnancy test, showing it to her.

“ you’re-” she gasps but i cut her off, “ i want some visual proof.”
