Malcolm and his group had reached the borders of san francisco, dreyfus was with them, as they drove to the tower.

" i shot him," says carver, " i was scared. I didn't know what to do."

" jesus christ," dreyfus cursed under his breath turning to malcolm, " how many were there?"

" a lot. Like eighty," he says calmly " at least," says a shaken ellie.

" they spoke!" shouts carver.

Their conversation went on talking about the apes, " we also saw her there too," said malcolm.

" who?" asks dreyfus.

" beth," the name caused dreyfus to freeze in place, " she was with them."

" not a word to anyone," warns dreyfus, " we don't want to create a panic."

I listened as the apes began gibbering, sitting away from the group council, milo cradled in my arms.

'must attack them now!' wails the scarred ape, ' before they attack us!'

' we don't know how many there are,' signs an orangutan, 'how many guns they have?'

' or why they came up here?' signs a gorilla.

The orangutan grunts, showing the leader a picture, as the others kept gibbering.

' they shot your son, rocket!' snarls the scarred ape, ' don't you want to fight?'

' i follow caesar,' says the ape with the bitten ear as he points to the leader.

" koba right," says a young ape behind caesar.

' almost killed you, ash!' signs the young ape.

They all began gibbering again, and i quickly covered milo's ears, feeling the tension within the council from where i sat.

" no!" shouts the leader and all is silent.

' if we go to war...' he begins to sign, ' we could lose all we've built...'

" home," he says while signing.

" family," he gestures around him, before looking to the scarred ape, lifting his chin slowly.

" future," he says signing as he spoke again.

The scarred ape grunts, nodding to caesar, waiting for him to speak again.

' i will decide by morning,' he signs as he stands to his feet walking over to the his hut.

As caesar leaves towards his hut, i watch as the scarred ape follows him, " caesar."

As caesar turns to him, i saw the ape slowly signing to him, and my eyes grew wide at what he signed.

' for years i was a prisoner in their lab...' he slowly signs, ' they cut me... tortured me.'

I watched as he paused for a second, ' you freed me,' he signs in admiration.

' i would do anything you ask,' he signs again, ' but we must show strength!'

' we will, koba' caesar finally signs as they firmly grasped the other's arm.

........

Later on that morning, as the males left for the colony, haze joining them. I stayed behind as one of the females helped me to my new hut, ' your son has told us of your troubles with the humans.'

I laughed watching milo as he attempted to feed me a berry, and i complied, as he pops the fruit into my mouth. I noticed one of the healers as they walked to the leader, caesar's hut, and slowly began to follow them.

One of the healers, aria as i had learned noticed me and came up towards me, " what's wrong?" i asked her.

' we are watching over cornelia,' she signs and points to an ape wearing a flower crown, ' she had just given birth to a second prince.'

I had noticed one of the females, holding a sleeping chimp in her arms, as the others watched over cornelia.

" i'm sorry i will leave you be than," i smiled to her leaving the hut.

An hour or two had passed, and the males had returned home, and i was attacked in a hug by haze.

' mother!' he gibbers cheerfully and i smile as i hugged back.

" how did things go?" i asked looking up into his brown eyes.

' great, the humans are no longer permitted to come to the woods,' he signs excitedly.

I smiled at him, " that's good."

I noticed blue eyes, caesar's son walk over to us, as he was looking at me.

' my father wants to speak with you,' he signs and i slowly nod, turning to hand milo to haze.

" watch your brother for me," he nods as i follow blue eyes towards caesar.

He was waiting for me near his hut, and i sat next to him, as we sat in silence.

" why were you in the forest? With young apes?" he finally speaks.

I turn to him, as he was looking at me, his golden speckled eyes showing a sight of curiosity. I than saw rocket, the orangutan maurice, and the scarred ape koba right behind him. Sighing i slowly look down at my lap, i could feel my eyes slowly burning with tears, stubbornness raging over my body.

" i was exiled from my colony," my voice was shaking as i spoke, " because i saved them before their mom died."

" i didn't care though," i frowned angrily, " the people didn't care about me, just because i had different ideals."

" what do you mean?" asks koba.

I looked up to them, sadly smiling at them, " they wanted me to kill haze and milo."

' you took them in?' asks maurice.

" it was only thing i could do, if i didn't they would have died."

Caesar stared at me for a good five minutes, and i smile at him, standing up slowly.

" i should go now," i whispered and nod to caesar, " before milo begins to cry."

Caesar watched as the girl left, as he stood as well, turning to his friends.

' the human could be lying,' growls koba.

' not from how she looked,' signed rocket.

' enough, we will find out more tomorrow,' says caesar as he leaves them.
