Penelope's P.O.V.
When everyone got back, Jason told me that the Titan War was over and he kept his promise. He, Reyna, and I made a cake and I insisted that they put things they liked on it, too. That way, we all got what we wanted. After putting the cake batter in the oven, Reyna looked at me and smiled.
"You are definitely going to take a shower tonight," she told me, then turned to Jason, "you too doughboy."
"Look who's talking. You have flour in your hair." Jason laughed, flinging more flour at her.
I squealed as the flour landed in my hair. Reyna threw a glare at Jason, then grabbed a handful of flour, throwing it back at him.
I squealed even louder, "I look like a snowgirl!"
The two of them started laughing when flour went up my nose, making me sneeze. Jason wiped the flour out of my face with his clean hand. Reyna shook her head and the powder fell off like snow.
After eating cake, Reyna and Jason walked me all the way back to my bedroom, which was in the building the praetors and other very important people lived, in between Jason and Octavian, the mean augur. When I had finished taking a shower, I let Reyna braid my hair. Jason got everything ready for me to get to bed without trouble.
Next door, I could hear Octavian tearing open another defenseless stuffed toy.
"He's mean." I said simply.
Jason and Reyna exchanged contempt looks. "Well," Reyna began, "Jason and I agree with you but, he is the augur." I snorted."Besides, he's the closest thing we have to what the Greeks called the Oracle."
"But he doesn't have to hurt stuffies..." I whined.
"Let's get you to bed," Jason said, "me and Reyna will sort it out in the morning, okay?"
"Okay." I said crawling under the covers.
Jason read a book to me while Reyna sat next to me. I had started to doze off in the middle of the story and Jason had stopped reading when he saw me nodding off. When Reyna moved I rolled over and gripped her arm.
"Mommy..." I murmured softly.
