"Pa... Pa..."

Feeling the gentle caresses on my face, I woke up to the gleeful face of my little troublemaker. His face was filled with amusement as he continued his duty of waking me up by forcefully bringing down his small hands to throw punches on my face and I was sure he learnt this from his mother.

The clock showed it was just 6 a.m. which was considered midnight by my sleeping standards. Groaning I pulled that soon-to-be year-old imp over my chest and tried to continue my blissful sleep.

"It's too early for us to roll off the bed, Leo"

Giggling, he continued his antics using my chest as a base to play his incoherent drum beats.

"Champ, I swear you are gonna punch a hole into my torso one day"

But that sneaky little charmer cut off my rant with his oh-so-innocent smile which I knew was one of his tricks and a sloppy kiss to my cheek.

I smiled at that little bundle of energy who was undeniably the heartthrob of my family.

"Ok now spill, who assigned you on this mission 'annoy-Abhi's-morning' ?" to which he turned towards the wide open bedroom door and notified me that the culprit was hiding on the other side.
"Boo..."

That word of his was enough to tell me that it was none other than my notorious wife Bhumi, who orchestrated this.

Giggling like an eight year old, she came into the room and her giggles morphed into full-blown laughter on seeing my annoyed face.

Though I held onto that mask of annoyance, my heart was soaring high on seeing my lady love's happy face and care-free laughter. The glow in her honey-brown orbs were enough to send my mind into a frenzy as I was the sole reason behind it.

Another figure entered the room and sent a scowl my way which was enough to tell it was my mom.

"Still in bed?

Even that baby is more energetic that you, you lazy imbecile.

Get ready, we can't afford to postpone the party just because my son is having his beauty sleep."

"Mom, sometime I doubt if you are the reincarnation of the evil stepmother from Cinderella

Are you?"

She gasped at my question while I goarned in pain as the toothless monster who was comfortably seated on my torso decided to punish me for that question by pulling my hair off my scalp.

"That's my grandson"

And that little imp leaped onto my mother's arms who gracefully took him and started conversing with him in gibberish.

"Why do I always get labelled as lazy. I bet his mother is still dancing in her la la land hugging her pillow"

"You lose my dear hubby

She has been awake from God knows when as she is busy organising our first year anniversary party.

Get out of that bed before she reaches her and pulls you out"

"What!!! She.... awake... early.."

"Yes. She has gone to the airport to receive your friends from U.S and she would get home any minute no...." Bhumi was cut off by a hurricane, my excited chipmunk.

"Why the hell is he still in bed?

And why are you all assembled here as if some conference is going on?

There is so much work to be completed and no one cares. Bhumi darling, don't forget confirm your appointment with the beautician and please brew me your special coffee.
