"Dude,do you ever laugh?"I asked.
For the dozenth time I actually cracked a joke to break the ice but this guy was as emotional as a statue.All he literally did was just navigating me around the whole area. Since we split from the girls he barely talked.
He finally laughed."That's what you've been trying to do? Well at least I laughed now."he said and his face returned back to neutral statue mode.
"Do you know where we are?" I asked."Yes. I do know where we are."he replied and we continued moving.
The place had a strange reeking smell to it. I expected that it was from the war and the possibility of anyone left here was really small. I spotted small tents in the vicinity but otherwise the land was barren.
We continued to walk towards the tents when we heard a cry for help. It was a female voice. We both looked at each other before we ran towards the noise.
As soon as we got there we scouted the area and soon saw a woman who looked younger than Nandita but was still a bit old. she was lying in the ground and was a little bit hurt in some places as well. As soon as I could I removed my first aid kit and began tending to her wounds.
Samm just stood at the entryway of the tent and stared at the tent.Seriously, was that guy a statue or what?
"Thank you."the woman said to me.
"What's your name?" Samm asked the woman.
"My name is Jane."She replied. "I've seen you before. You were Dr.Morgan's assistant of some sort, Samm if I remember correctly."She said after observing Samm for a moment. I took out the emergency food that I had in my bag and handed a small loaf of bread to the woman.
"You seem hungry,"I said to the woman,"Eat. We will wait outside the tent."
The woman smiled ad took the bread and began to eat. While Mr.Statue and I walked out.
"Do you know her?" I asked him softly.
He shook his head."I think she was one of Dr.Morgan's human test subjects. I don't remember seeing her around though."He replied.
Just then the woman came out and we began to walk back to the agreed meeting place with Samm leading the way.
