The Search for Survivors~ A Partials Sequence fanfiction

Chapter 8

A/N: This chapter is a little different since it is in 3rd person throughout. The main reason for this is that this chapter is more of an explanation by a character and I preferred that it would be better in 3rd person. Enjoy!

Jane began her story."I was originally a part of ParaGen and was a part of the Trust. Things were actually going really well. I had fallen in love and gotten married to a man from the Trust itself. My life had nothing to regret.But then things changed."

"What happened?" Kira asked Jane.

"I remember that day so well. There was an important meeting on what was going to happen  with the RM and Failsafe as well as the Partials expiration date."said Nandita.

"I was against the Partials expiration date from the start. I felt it was an inhuman idea and they deserved chances to live for longer lives."said Jane,"Nandita had supported my idea from the start.But when the topic came up during the meeting I spoke against the idea of the expiration date. The rest of the Trust went against my ideas except Nandita who argued for my cause."

"But the outcome wasn't good. The trust led a vote to use the expiration date which angered Jane and she left ParaGen all together due to the difference of opinion. I begged her to stay but she left her husband as well didn't come back."said Nandita.

"We kept in contact for a short span of time until the Break after which we couldn't keep in contact since we believed that the other was dead. I still kept note of whatever happened to me in the notebook which doubled as my research book."said Jane.

Jane's expression was sad and upset."I used to think back on my decision and wonder whether it was right to leave my whole life and family behind because of a disagreement and still wonder what happened to the man I loved."She said

The whole room was silent.

"What was the man's name?"asked Isolde."Maybe he could be here in East Meadow."

"He is not a man I would like to see again but if you want to know sure,"said Jane."His name was Armin Dhurvasula."

And with that Kira's mouth fell wide open with shock. All the others except Nandita ,were shocked and were looking at Kira.

"Do you know him?"Jane asked."Judging by your faces,you know something about him."

"We know him alright."said Marcus.

"Where is he?"Jane asked,"And how do you know him?"

"Armin Dhurvasula was my father."said Kira softly,"He died recently during the war."

Now Jane was shocked,"Nandita had told me that Armin had a daughter who was a partial but I never imagined that I would ever see her in my life."she said with a smile coming on her face.

"But I think he changed from the time you knew him." said Kira."He almost killed me claiming that it was for the greater good."

"That was Armin from the start. Family didn't matter much only the greater good at all times."said Jane.

The candles began to flicker and there was only one left."I guess it's better that we get some rest."said Madison who was still holding Arwen. 

Everyone agreed and spread their sleeping bags on the floor to get a good night's sleep.
