The Search for Survivors~ A Partials Sequence fanfiction

Chapter 9 (Kira POV)

I sat up on my sleeping bag after I knew everyone was asleep. I had too much to think about and I couldn't sleep.

I walked up to the open window and looked outside to see the moon and the stars twinkling brightly. "Couldn't sleep?"a voice asked from behind me.

I turned to see Jane standing behind me with a hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah I have too much to think about. Mainly wondering when my father never told me about any of this stuff."I said.

"It's understandable. I'm guessing that he didn't care about me after I left. But I still have the wedding ring he gave me.I never forgot him. Nandita told me that every time she tried to talk about me to him after I left he would dodge the question and try to forget me."she said softly.

"But I want you to know one thing Kira. I will be there for you as the mother you never knew. I will be there anytime you need any advice or ideas. I would have protected you against Armin when he tried to kill you. There is one part of the story I didn't tell you all."she said

I looked up to her face. We sat down near the window. "The ParaGen meeting wasn't the only spark. Everyday Armin and I used to argue a lot after he decided on the ideas of the RM and the Break. Our relationship was in a very bad state. We knew it was time for us to part ways and it would be happening soon. When he decided on adopting a child I was not so supportive of the idea. I knew his main intentions were for some greater good or the other. If I would have stayed I could have kept you away from that monster."

She had a tear on her face. Hearing this was not what i had expected.

"So you thought he was still a monster?" I asked her. I felt sorry for the woman.

"We kept the charade of a calm husband and wife for the outside world but if you came to our house it was like a war zone. Even Nandita doesn't know this. The only reason he married me was because he felt I would be useful for his plans. But he only saw my true side after the wedding. I would have been glad to kill him if I had the chance. I'm sorry I couldn't see you earlier Kira. You are that child I always wanted. I love you Kira and I am so proud that you are my daughter."she said.

Now my mind was still reeling but I had come to a conclusion. I could trust Jane and she did care for me as much as an actual mother. I had a mother. The one thing I always wanted and wondered if I did have.

I opened my arms wide and embraced her tightly.

"I love you too Mom."I said with my arms still holding her tightly.

A/N:So this ends 'The Search for Survivors'. Honestly, loved writing this fanfiction more than any of the others I wrote.My next Partials fanfiction is in progress with the idea so within a month I will have that on wattpad as well. I feel this is series is one that deserves a much bigger fandom than it has. I do want to find more fans of this series and please tell me how you liked it and how I can improve it in the future.
