It was a while after that they decided to go visit the folks for Thanksgiving and to introduce Lauren to them and Lauren is terrified when she realizes she will be meeting four sets of parents. The girls spend weeks trying to make it easier on her, they show pics of the family, talk about their parents and siblings and their childhood neighborhood. By the time Thanksgiving arrives she is equally both excited and terrified.

Lauren has a slight anxiety attack the day she meets the parents arrives. Surprisingly it's Dinah who calms her down. She shoos everyone else away and just holds Lauren until her breathing returns to normal and Lauren is ready to listen. Dinah then says that there's nothing to be worried about, they've all been through it before. They might have known each other for forever, but they didn't introduce the girls to each other's parents as their soulmates until senior year of high school. Their parents were extremely over the moon for the girls and were just overjoyed that the girls were soulmates. Lauren laughs when Dinah tells her Milika actually slapped her (not super hard just to be clear) because she didn't tell her mom sooner. So Lauren is somewhat calmed and ready, but then the parents get there and Lauren's a stuttering wreck and she accidentally trips on the coffee table, and Milika just looks at her and deadpans 'she's as clumsy as Mila, she's perfect' and gives Lauren this giant hug and Lauren has never felt so relieved because it turned out okay.

Lauren's parents are completely blindsided by the fact that she has multiple soulmates, because Lauren never said anything about having more than one. Lauren finally tells them about six months after meeting the girls, and they're shocked because Lauren never mentioned making any friends (she's such a shy bean) and suddenly she has four soulmates. They meet them on New Years following that Thanksgiving, and they couldn't be more happy that their shy lil baby has four soulmates who are perfect for her (though they find out quickly whenever the four come over to make like 4x the food because Camila, Dinah, and Mani eat like all the food). They're happy their daughter is in the protective hands of these four girls and wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of Lauren like they do.

Lauren is so grateful for the girls in her mind they accepted her and changed their dynamic for her, she still worries sometimes. They are so good to her. So leading up to valentines she is all secretive, thinking she is slick, they figure out the same day she started and they subtly help her along cuz they melt over her trying to surprise them (they add their own details to it too).

Lauren and Dinah secretly adopt a puppy (Leo) and sneak him home and they have this foolproof plan to basically plead with the others (specifically Ally and Mani) to let them keep him. Camila immediately joins Lauren and Dinah in their pleading, and the two oldest are like 'fine but we're not cleaning up his poop' and the three younger ones are super excited and bear hug the other two. A few weeks later Dinah and Lauren bring home Laker and Raider and it's decided then those two are not allowed anywhere near animal shelters ever again.

Somedays the bed is over full cuz the puppies sneak in the bed sometimes and Ally decides they need a bigger place, and instead of an actual bed on her room she choses a few of the fluffiest mattresses and they look like a nest, but as she wakes up under their dogpile all on one quarter of it, she can't help but smile so hard at that. She also finds the fluffiest and gentle kitty and the dogs love it and protect it. Dinah asks to get a chihuahua, neither Camila nor Lauren got it, Normani thought it hilarious.

So one time, Ally goes home to visit family over a long weekend, and the other four are still at home. And at some point, Lauren has one of her worst bad days ever, and goes completely nonverbal and refuses to let either of the others near her, and they're just like 'this would happen when Ally's gone and they can't have their quiet time'. Then Mani calls Ally and tells her what's happening, and Ally is immediately like 'get skype set up I don't care if you have to break our door down'. So they get Lauren to open the door and set up skype and Ally video calls and she's talking to Lauren and she finds out that some asshole at Lo's work was making advances on her and it made her uncomfortable and she couldn't get the guy to leave her alone until another coworker came over and scared him off. Lauren is really apologetic about interrupting Ally's time with her family but Ally's just like 'you're family, too, babe,' and just makes a bunch of promises that it's okay. Then she starts singing one of Lauren's fave songs until Lo falls asleep, and in the morning Lauren wakes up to see 'It'll be alright, Lo. Love you lots, see you when I'm home' and a really cute little doodle of a heart on her arm and Lauren really loves her girls so much.
