Chapter 3: A Neighbors Surprise

"Reb, hun, could you get the muffins in the oven?" Mom asked. I walked over to the oven covered in flour. Once we had come home, Serina decided she would make a cake for the neighbors. Mom had called to say she would be coming over, but I guess they insisted they would come over instead. "Must've been some nice people, "I commented once we got home.

"Oh yes! I hear they have a son around your age! I don't know why, but the father seems so familiar...but the mom is different. Oh well, we'll figure out who they are later. Ooh! And they have a little girl who's staying with them for half a year. Serina can play with her!!" My mom has babbled. Well, I CAN say I am excited...

"Hey Rebby, can you pass me those frostings over there?" Serina asked, pointing to them. I handed them to her. She smiled with some icing on her lips.

"Where's dad?" I asked.

"He's still at work. His boss had something important for him to do I think." My mom said, sprinkling some salt and pepper in the dish she was making. I think she was making some kind of Mexican food. Haaa...did I mention I love All-Over-The-World food? I breathed in the scent.

"Mom, that smells delicious!" Serina said, before I got the chance to praise her cooking. Mom blushed, "Thanks honey. That means alot to me!" My mom was also cooking some noodles in case Serina didn't like the food she was cooking. My phone beeped. Grant.

Hey Rebecca! Doin' N.E. Thing? My 'mom' says she bringing Mikayla and. A relative of mine 2 these ppl's house. :P U?

I'm busy now so I'll TTYL.

I laughed at his signature. It was really amusing. But then I started to wonder. A relative? I wondered who... I quickly replied back:

Got sme visitrs comin' :P Wish u were here...

I quickly deleted that last sentence and replaced it with:

Relative? Hoo?

I breathed out a sigh of relief...

But he didn't reply back. Hmm...

"Who's Grant?" Serina popped out of nowhere, scaring the muffins out of me. Sorry, that saying was random...

"WHOA!! Serina! Don't do that again!" I scolded. She shrugged, but nudged me with a smile, "Sooo, he your boyfriend?" I turned red, and sputtered, "WHAT!?! NO! He's just this guy I met in school!" Mom was looking in my direction with her eyebrow raised.

"REALLY!! And Serina! You should remember! He's Mikayla and Robin's cousin! Remember?" I said frantically, wanting to get off the boyfriend subject quickly. 

Serina immediately brightened, "Him!?!? That's awesome!!! He was so much fun when I met him!! Hey! Let's invite him over!! And then he could tell me about your relationship!" She squealed.
