The bell was rang,as usual student rushed to the assembly hall and assembled according to their classes.

'Mr jailin(the school principal), a pudgy man with a pot belly who is  strict to student,  I literally never sees him smile,he always keeps a straight face and  no one dares to defy him except Tonisa and her friends.'

"Good morning student of Rukhab int'l school, I'm here today to announce the forth coming English competition for senior classes, which was organized by the richest man in the country , "Abubakar Ababwa".
All the school in the country will be participating in the regional English competition and the  top forty schools qualified will be participating in the main competition in the capital of this country."

"Thus! the prize that will be given to the winner is a scholarship to Harvard university and the sum of one Million.
So if you are interested in participating, kindly meet the head teacher during your free period. 'Good morning' he informed and left."

Students started murmuring as they stroll to their separate classes.

'A scholarship and a sum of one million, this means the competition will be really tough kalita muttered as we walk towards the class room.'
'I think  I will participate in the competition kalita uttered, who else wants to participate?, I will, I responded, nice! two out of  five, its okay .'
'You all know I prefer dancing to competition, Samar said. Yeah right.'
 

The next day at school, kalita and I registered our names among the students participating in the competition.

I have represented my school in different kinds of competition and the prizes given to the winner is usually text books, trophies,medals, and  minor gadgets, this competitions are usually regional.

This upcoming competition is the biggest which involves every school in the country and I'm participating, I guess I will have to study more harder.

   The head teacher announced that all the student who registered their names  should meet during  free period in the Assembly hall.
  We all gathered in the Assembly hall, within some minutes, the head teacher walked in, she was wearing a black trouser, navy blue shirt with a black stiletto.

"Good day to you all, I guess you all know why we are here.
Screening of students will begin today so as the school competition, I wish you all best of luck."

'This English competition is all about knowing the meaning of every English word including the borrowed ones, it will be a tough competition but then I feel I can do it .'

I glanced through the hall and surprisingly I saw kaifal, "is he also participating?" I whispered loudly, who kalita asked looking at the direction I was looking at, you mean kaifal ?, it looks like he is.

The screening began, at the first round fifteen students were screened out of forty, ten  students were screened out in the second round and the last round was sort of tough, every one was trying hard not to get screened out anyways ten students were out and five students were qualified. I was so excited that I'm part of the qualified ones, also kaifal and kalita.
